The 2007 NORML Conference was held on Friday, October 12 and Saturday, October 13 at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Universal City, CA. The 36th annual National NORML conference is proud to announce and highlight the High Times Magazine’s Stony Awards—where cannabis, cinema and culture are righteously celebrated—which was the Saturday night NORML fundraising event at the conference this year.
There were featured speakers as well as panels led by internationally recognized cannabis law reform activists, legal/medical experts and anti-prohibitionist businesspersons, examining important topics. To see the complete list of check out the agenda and list of speakers.
The Sheraton Universal is a first-rate, modern hotel located only a complimentary tram ride from Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Citywalk, a shopping area that includes restaurants and hundreds of commercial shops. Facilities include an outdoor heated swimming pool, an outdoor whirlpool, and a fitness center open 24-hours. Stroll over to hip Melrose Avenue, Hollywood, Beverly Hills and downtown Los Angeles.
The High Times' 2007 Stony Awards—NORML's Benefit Fundraiser was held Saturday evening at the Knitting Factory. Great comedians, live musical acts and presentations of the only awards in the entertainment industry that can be used immediately backstage. Winners this year included: The Simpson's Movie, Seth Rogen as "Stoner of the Year", and Mary Louise Parker of Weeds.
NORML proudly represents and embraces the folks who have the most at stake in ending marijuana prohibition and legalizing the responsible use of marijuana, and it’s up to us to get that done.
