Dr. Lester Grinspoon, a psychiatrist, is a retired professor at the Harvard Medical School and a well published author in the field of drugs and drug policy. He has authored more than 140 articles in scientific journals and twelve books, including Marijuana Reconsidered and Marijuana, The Forbidden Medicine.

Dr. Grinspoon is a frequent lecturer on drug policy issues and has appeared as an expert witness before legislative committees in several states and several committees of the U.S. Congress. In 1990 he received the Alfred R. Lindesmith Award for Achievement in the Field of Scholarship and Writing from the Drug Policy Foundation in Washington, DC.

Dr. Grinspoon currently maintains www.marijuana-uses.com, which chronicles real life stories of people who have had positive "non-medical" experiences with marijuana.
