While NORML's national conference is the premier event in the nation where citizens and leaders gather to discuss strategy, share experience and build community to reform cannabis laws, a NORML conference is hardly an 'all work and no play' event as the conference will host socials and celebrations to honor the organization, activists, and movement heroes.
Social events include a Wednesday night welcoming reception hosted by Orange County NORML with a special acoustic set with Mike D from Zen Robbi , a Thursday night Activist Awards Ceremony and 'Not-So-Silent' Auction, a NORML Women's Alliance luncheon, and a Saturday night fundraiser at The Hemp Museum in downtown Los Angeles.
Art Auction Item
At the popular NORML/High Times Not-So-Silent Auction on Thursday October 4, a cannabis enthusiast can discover and bid on items such as an art print of Bob Marley signed by the photographer; an original Doonesbury cartoon; an autographed I-Chong framed card promoting the book by Tommy Chong; a week at a vacation home in France; cannabis-n-politics ephemera; and numerous other cannabis-related art items.
Saturday afternoon's Women's Alliance luncheon welcomes all to a lunch buffet and celebration of women in the movement. Hosted by
NORML Board Member Kyndra Miller. Awards will be presented by Diane Fornbacher
(Pauline Sabin Award Winner 2012). Tickets are required for this event.
Saturday night's fundraiser will take place offsite at the Hemp Museum located at 1358 S. Flower, Los Angeles. The museum's curator Richard Davis has collected thousands of hemp artifacts from all over the world. The 'joint' fundraiser will benefit CA NORML, OC NORML and the NORML Women's Alliance in CA. Tickets are available online or at the door.
