Michigan Legalization

SUMMARY: Fifty-six percent of Michigan voters approved Proposal 1, which permits adults to legally grow (up to 12 plants, including all of the harvest from those plants) and to possess personal use quantities of cannabis (up to 2.5 ounces of flower and/or up to 15 grams of concentrates) while also licensing commercial cannabis production and retail sales. The law took effect on December 6, 2018. Licensed storefronts began engaging in adult-use retail marijuana sales on December 1, 2019.
