Helena: Members of the state Senate voted Tuesday 28 to 22 in favor of Senate Bill 326, an act to expand the state’s four-year-old medical marijuana law.
As introduced, SB 326 would: expand the number of qualifying conditions for which cannabis may be legally recommended; increase the amount of marijuana a patient may legally possess; and prohibit employers and landlords from discriminating against medicinal marijuana patients solely because of their medical status.
The proposal now goes before the state House of Representatives, which is expected to take action on the bill in March.
Some 2,000 patients are registered with the Montana Department of Health to use cannabis medically.
