Washington, DC: NORML is still accepting last-minute registrations from criminal defense attorneys and the general public to attend its fifth annual Aspen Legal Seminar. This year’s event takes place from Thursday, June 10 through Saturday, June 12 at The Gant Hotel in downtown Aspen – one of the nation’s most marijuana-friendly cities.
Speakers at this year’s event include NORML Deputy Director Paul Armentano; Leland Berger, legal counsel for the American Alliance for Medical Cannabis; Gerald Goldstein, past president of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) and legal counsel for the late-Hunter S. Thompson; Douglas Hiatt, a member of NORML’s Legal Committee and the chief petitioner for the Washington state marijuana legalization initiative, I-1068; Jeralyn Merritt, founder of TalkLeft.com and frequent television legal analyst for Fox News, CNBC, and MSNBC; noted Maryland attorney William ‘Billy’ Murphy, recipient of the Charles Hamilton Houston Award for Lifetime Achievement in Litigation from the University of Baltimore School of Law; and Executive Director Allen St. Pierre.
