Miami, FL: The average price of medical marijuana is lowest in Oregon and highest in New York, according to a Leafwell analysis of over 130,000 products sold in dispensaries nationwide.
Their analysis reported that the average price of medical cannabis flower is $13.90 per gram.
Medical cannabis in Oregon averages $6.91 per gram – the lowest in the nation. Other jurisdictions with lower-than-average prices include Maine, Colorado, Arkansas, Michigan, Ohio, Mississippi, California, New Mexico, and Arizona.
By contrast, the price per gram in New York, where only a handful of licensed medical dispensaries are operational, is $23.17 – the highest in the country.
Thirty-eight states regulate the production and sale of medical cannabis products.
New York regulators have frequently faced criticism for failing to license an adequate number of cannabis retailers to meet consumers’ demand.
