Since 1992, every Thursday and when breaking news warrants, NORML | The NORML Foundation have been issuing weekly press releases for marijuana law supporters and the media.
NORML’s News Releases archives goes back to 1996 and serves as a valuable tool to alert citizens about cannabis-related news and legislation as well as a research tool for reviewing a chronology of marijuana law reform.

Researchers concluded, “The findings in this paper provide evidence that recreational cannabis dispensaries improved county-level labor market conditions in Colorado.”
Pain patients, on average, reduced their opioid use by nearly one-third, with some of the study’s participants reducing their use by over 40 percent.
All of the products studied tested positive for the presence of heavy metals and none of them provided accurate potency information.
Investigators concluded, “CBM therapy should be included as first line therapy for the patient groups considered due to the significant prolongation of survival time.”
Under the plan, those ages 18 and older will be permitted to possess and grow small quantities of cannabis without penalty.
“This bipartisan effort represents the growing consensus to reform marijuana policies in a manner that addresses the harms inflicted by prohibition,” NORML’s Political Director said.
