Federal: House Committee Approves Amendment Barring Production of Hemp-Derived Intoxicating Products
The amendment targets products containing cannabinoids that “are not capable of being naturally produced” by the hemp plant or that are the result of a chemical synthesis.
Consistent with prior studies, researchers determined that cannabis consumers were more likely than non-users to engage in light physical activity.
“Legalization was not significantly associated with immediate or ongoing changes in hospitalization rates … for either younger or older adults,” investigators concluded.
Currently, tribes are operating businesses in nine states: California, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, South Dakota, and Washington.
Lawmakers advanced similar legislation last year, but the bill was vetoed by Gov. Gavin Newsom.
Retail cannabis sales generated the greatest amount of tax revenue in California, followed by Illinois, Washington, and Michigan.
Patients reported sustained improvements in their physical and mental health following cannabis therapy.
