The measure allows first-time marijuana possession offenders to file a request for an expungement of their records within 90 days of their conviction.
The bill’s provisions permit adults to legally possess up to 2.5 ounces of cannabis flower (up from one ounce) and/or up to one-quarter of an ounce of concentrates (up from one-eighth of an ounce).
Because the 2023 legislative session has adjourned, lawmakers will not have an opportunity to override the Governor’s veto.
“Twins living in a state with recreational cannabis laws reported fewer negative consequences from alcohol use than their co-twin living in a non-RCL state,” investigators determined.
Researchers concluded, “More than half of opioid users at baseline were able to [either] discontinue or decrease [their] opioid use after starting medical cannabis.”
