“No cardiovascular treatment-emergent adverse drug effects emerged” during patients’ treatment with liquid cannabis extracts.
Patients with anxiety disorders are eligible to access medical cannabis products on January 1, 2023.
Patients showed “statistically significant improvements” in a variety of domains, including sleep, anxiety, and stress.
“Each cannabis sales dollar was associated with an average alcohol sales reduction of between $0.74 and $0.84,” the study determined.
Investigators concluded, “Well-being, anxiety, sleep disturbance, and pain significantly improved among those assigned to take a CBD product relative to controls.”
“Overall, it appears that there is limited scientific evidence to support the assertion that cannabis use impairs ‘next day’ performance,” researchers concluded.
Under the new law, the Attorney General is provided with a 60-day timeline to either approve or deny applications from scientists wishing to conduct human trials with cannabis.
