The criminal prohibition of cannabis is an indefensible public policy position. Why can I say that? Just watch the video below.
It’s been clear for quite some time that proponents of marijuana prohibition have nary a leg to stand on. When their position is scrutinized, even the least bit, it ends up collapsing like a house of cards. In this case, the look on FBI Director Robert Mueller’s face two minutes and forty-three seconds into the video says it all. His empty rhetoric has failed and he has no more artillery left in his arsenal. He’s been defeated and he knows it.
What’s most amazing about this exchange is just how quickly it all unraveled. Faced with the job of defending a multi-billion dollar public policy — one that’s been in place for more than seven decades — one of Washington, DC’s top bureaucrats found himself looking for a place to hide in under three minutes. That’s all the time it takes to destroy marijuana prohibition.
As the public support in favor of legalization continues to grow, we can expect to see more and more defenders of prohibition squirm like Mr. Mueller. That is, if there are any public defenders still left to be found.

Thank you, the whole time i was thinking i’d like to be able to talk to a cop like that and be able to get away with it. nice job embarrassing that dude.
i love it
“continues to grow” link is broken.
No, he’s right. I started off with milk, then went to Frosted Flakes, then Chuckles, and then Marijuana. Then I went back again, and had some more Chuckles.
What exactly was this hearing? I really expect one of these clowns, one day, to say, “ok it’s what I was told to say, damn im sorry, i’ll shut up now”
Hell yea the FBI Muellur guy shut his mouth right away
Shut Down!
That is fantastic
Personally I think the gateway theory does exist to some extent. But, if pot were legal, the buyer would not have a reason to associate with black market distributors. Thus narrowing access to any other drugs even if the person want’s to buy them.
Video was fantastic, by the way.
That’s one of the best videos I’ve ever seen. I’m so happy that we have REAL people in office. Maybe someone will listen to them!
COHEN FOR PRESIDENT 2012
YES YES YES YES YES!!!! This is amazing news!!
Right on keep going and I will keep donating!!!!
Wow, schooled indeed.
Damn, I bet that was embarrassing. Even my butt puckered when the bomb was dropped at 2:43 lol.
That was GREAT!!! Does anyone know who the gentleman asking the questions is? I need to write to him and let him know how much I appreciate hearing an open minded and intelligent perspective from a public official on the issue of marijuana law reform. m really glad that this public official pointed out that there have been no reported deaths from using marijuana.
Law enforcement has a vested economic interest in continuing the “war on drugs”. For every dollar spent, a dollar is made by some agency that is charged with “winning” the war. Helicopters, SUV’s, night vision, cool guns…, it’s easy money and business creates itself!
Marijuana law reform has dragged, in no small part because prior to the internet, people who were in favor of law reform were isolated and had to find like minded people in enclaves that were pushed into the fringes of popular culture and society. The internet has enabled us to find like minded, and intelligent people without the immediate threat of arrest. Thank you Paul, Alan and Keith and NORML for the brave work you have done for so long. This is a call to arms! Let us not squander this moment, this opportunity, this resource! Together we can manifest the public support necessary to give our representatives the confidence to have an intelligent debate on the issue. Ultimately, I am confident that we will reach a tipping point and that marijuana law reform will be made.
Give the People What they want! Let’s end this insanity,Put people to work producing a “green” product , that has more than good use!
The time is now!
OH MY GOD amazing THANK YOU someone finally has a brain. I do pot and love it…how does that make me want to inject myself with heroin??? oh right cuz they’re both illegal and schedule I drugs
Priceless… fucking priceless
Great video, but the “continues to grow” hyperlink is not working.
Incredible!
I want more of this!
Our FBI director is a Nazi prohibitionist…Pathetic.
Let’s hope they finally end the stupid war on on our own otherwise law abiding citizens. Thanks norml.
oh……… man.
^– this is all i could say after the clip ended!
the truth will set us free
Isn’t this supposed to be a free country? It is far better to provide a shelter of freedom for everyone, than to make legislation (prohibition) that wastes billions of dollars – and only for the sake of one small part of the population, and only because they had a bad experience with a drug OTHER than marijauna. There is a great injustice caused by locking up otherwise law abiding citizens over a silly prohibition that has no rationale.
Wow, seems like the end of prohibition is getting extremly close. What did that discussion do anyways?
I’ve said that for years. Cigarettes, beer, alcohol are the GATEWAY DRUGS. Not weed!
Mueller didn’t seem so much as defeated rather than annoyed that he had to be there. He didn’t really concede any points either, he just sat there and got yelled at.
Overrated clip
to hear Anslinger SLAMMED in the Halls of Congress is unheard of, let the truth set us free.
I would use that in the next commercial.
Now you have to realize Mueller was “only the head of the FBI” not the sharpest sticker in the patch. HA! Legalize
nice one, he was like a nervous schoolboy on a first date, they know that they dont have a leg to stand on and that most ppl want it legal
BTW we really need your help in the UK, see my link, i have emailed you guys and never got a reply, its a global issue not just your country, i guarantee the laws fall in Britain and it will open up things everywhere
keep up the fantastic work
It would be good to credit Tennessee Congressman Steve Cohen who was the person grilling Mueller.
This is great!!!
This is great stuff! That dude was squirming!!! I love the milk to juice to beer to burban analogy – it really doesn’t make sense at all.
they’ll fight it to the end…spouting their bs lies…its all about the money and the power and hopefully folks are beginning to wake up and see these bastards for the crooks they are and for the immense damage they’ve done to our country.
I hope you guys from Norml can get a message to Steve Cohen for all of us that we appreciate what he is doing, I tried to e-mail him but since im not in his state it wouldnt let me!!
RE-LEGALIZE IT.
oh and met to add… looks like hes been on a 3 day drunk…hypocritcal SOB
HA HA , he couldn’t give on death attributed to cannibis alone. Harder drugs do in deed kill. He lost on the Gateway theroy something big too. Yes, you people are losing your jobs and billions to fight and unwinnable war on American people. If we can change this toughass nut to crack law(prohibition), we can change the way government does everything including taxing the hell out of us. Do you hear that people…(ding ding) thats freedom ringing!
wow….mueller was punked. did you hear how many um’s this cretin uttered early on. he has no position and knows is it. better yet, he knows we know it.
It would have been more effective had he told Mueller that marijuana is a gateway drug only because to get it you have to go through shady dealers who may sell other drugs and may want you to try them. Prohibition makes it a gateway drug for those who are susceptible to it.
Bout Damn Time.
OWNED!!!
Too bad you won’t see that clip on CNN or (especially) Fox and the like.
Considering that the prohibitionists don’t have the truth on their side, the end of prohibition is only a matter of time. All we need to do is make sure to spread the information and show people the truth.
No deaths from marijuana, the gateway theory is a load of bullsh!t, and prohibition is costing us a lot more than we can afford right now.
I agree with Burt, Nice job who-ever-that-guy-is.
You can speak you mind. It’s a conctitutional right. Know your facts and laws and allow the debate to begin. Most people for prohibition are ill informed. I feel the time for prohibtion is at an end. Alchol stopped because of hard ecomnomic times. History in doomed nah shall i say destined to repeat itself.
Meanwhile, some straight-up citizen who has been an asset to his community is behind bars, lost his job, lost his kids, and when he gets out he will have to start his life over as a third-rate citizen. The debate can go on and it’s encouraging to see this debate, but if most are in favor of legalization, why not ask the government to put a suspended status on criminal prosecution for marijuana until things are HASHED out?
I certainly hope this makes a impression and opens further discussions and possibilites politically. This certainly was entertaining and satisfying.
I hope Muller is a little bit better educated on terrorism and other criminal matters than he is drugs. What an idiot!
Things appear to be rolling. When will we get off dead center and start some change? When will we attack Reagans executive order 12564 allowing workplace urine testing? When will our rights to privacy be protected in the workplace? I have asked this question many times and never recieved a response..
Once again the truth about cannibus ( the english version, I’m not from a spanish speaking country so I won’t use the spanish name for cannibus and neither should any of you and I would like to suggest that norml change it name to national organization for the reform of hemp and cannibus laws) has taken another pro prohibitionist to his knees. The truth and a good amount of knowledge on the issue seems to be our best method of convincing people to see the benefits of ending prohibition.
Alcohol prohibition was ended for the soul purpose of eliminating all of the organized crime that was associated with it and not because the public use of alcohol was a safe thing to do. It also generated a great deal of very much needed tax revenue to a country that was in a deep financial crisis. Sound familiar?
That was awesome!
Finally we have majority of American’s on our side. Legalize Recreational Marijuana!
LOL…FBi GOT SCHOOLED iN TiS ViDEO
YOU CANT DiE FROM MARiJUANA
iTS THE PERFECT DRUG~
We should send Steve (D) Tenn. a medal. He is the only politician that I have seen that actually tells the truth!! What a victory for us left liberal that feel LIVE AND LET LIVE is the way to go…
CFJ
I wish it were that easy…
Nice lil’ debate Congressman Cohen!
I can’t wait till a federal bill is introduced to reschedule Marijuana and law enforcment no longer bothers us about it. squirm you slime.
I am glad to see this issue is staying in the public eye and that members of congress are beginning to see the benefits of legalization. I would like to see more coverage of the states positions on marijuana legalization.
That was great. Anti-marijuana rhetoric is no longer going to be accepted by American citizens without facts to back it up.
priceless….just priceless….no more rhetoric or false propoganda!!! Legalize Marijuana Now!!!!
Save the Economy, Legalize Marijuana http://www.myspace.com/stelm
I am very impressed with Rep. Cohen I believe it is. He managed to invalidate the Feds stance on the gateway theory, the classification of cannabis as comparable to meth, cocaine, heroine and the war on drugs. It’s great to see someone who obviously is not worried about the elite few, but the overwhelming majority for once. Tennessee is lucky to have you, at least as far as this issue is concerned.
Hey Normal the Continues to grow link isnt working
Wow, this is really refreshing ! I give Steve Cohen lots of props and love for his courage and intelligence on this exchange. First rep ive seen publicly debunk the gateway theory. I think we will be seeing more of this to come because you cant hide the truth forever. Ending this 72 year old war on a flower is way over due. Lets Re-Legalize Nature !
Summarizes what I’ve been saying for 20 years.
oh my god i guess that guy is packing his office up. many kudos to him to steve cohen. ive never heard the gateway theory actually used in debate and shot down with such little resistance from the government’s side will we win this? if we have more dumbasses like rob mueller who try to back up age old and disproven facts?
america, land of the free, kinda, home of the stoned, well, most of us,
our cause will not be lost
I was arrested, pled guilty, put on probation, charged with fines, etc….for owning property consisting of two marijuana cigarette butts (roaches). And for that fact that the police officers can deprive me of my rights and treat me like a criminal I resent them for that and almost makes me hate them. I don’t want to hate them, I want to love them.
I see it as a war on me by the police officers when I am not violent, don’t hurt others. Please stop this war between the people and law enforment by fully equilizing alcohol laws and marijuana laws.
One Word, OWNED!!!!!!
hahaha this fool has no clue wat the fuck he was saying! I hope everyone saw this!
Muller said Oxycontin is a drug that kills parents. Is that not a prescription drug? It’s a dirty drug alright.
quick witted
Awesome, who is the guy talking to him? Looks familiar.
I cant wait. its comming on very rapidly. I help get the word out chance i get i fight all day about how its not a gateway drug that makes no since i can personly say as a smoker i have never and will never do any drug because i dont feel the need. weed is natural helps my depression and well just makes me happy…
Will California citizens vote on weather marijuana become legal or will the elected officials vote? I am curious as to how this will work.
What other states are trying for straight legalization of marijuana this year?
I’m tickled pink that this issue is finally on the media’s radar on a weekly basis! Many people blame Pres. Obama for not legalizing cannabis when, in fact, it is our lawmakers on Capitol Hill who must initiate change in our failed drug war.
Finally!!!
that was satisfying. I’m going to watch that every night before I go to bed.
Mueller did appear unmotivated to defend cannabis prohibition, as he’s likely aware of the absurdity of such a stance. As time pulls upon, perhaps bureaucrats and politicians will be increasingly inclined to speak their own minds instead of cementing themselves as mouthpieces for agendas they may not resonate with. The transformation of the “war on drugs” into beneficial and educational approaches to substance engagement will likely lubricate societal bridges of discourse and eventuate a more consciously peaceful existence for all.
Who was the guy talking to Mueller ?
Rep. Steve Cohen, from Tennessee
Thanks. Nice job, Mr Cohen. Mr. Cohen will be receiving a thank you letter from me.
That is great. The best part is how easy it is. Anyone that isn’t completely ignorant could have just as easily refuted everything he was saying.
pwnd.
Awesome, now if only more people would get it through their heads that the “gateway drug” theory is not valid. My grandmother became addicted to percoset and morphine, never had a toke in her life. She’s had several mini-strokes, flipped her VW New Beetle, and at the worst point, couldn’t find her way out of the neighborhood to go to the doctor and ended up taking off a mirror on her car (without remembering how it happened), all this from nothing BUT prescription painkillers. I’ve never had a car wreck, never had to be hospitalized because I smoked too much pot, never forgot how to leave my own house, not one serious problem that stemmed directly from smoking cannabis. Now, who is going to tell me that we need to focus on cannabis consumption just as much as prescription drug abuse, or hard drug abuse such as heroine, cocaine, and meth?
This is prove that legalization will come to fruition.
To bad that it was not covered by our news stations and that their wasn’t others who were not scared to share this with every one after all their is no need for lies and to keep marijuana illegal when we have a choice to legalize and tax it which the money could be used for things like health and education to name but just a few. Our drug laws aren’t working.
Every year, millions of Americans are arrested on drug offenses, yet drugs are more available than ever before. High school students find it easier to get marijuana than alcohol or prescription drugs. And Mexican drug cartels have become rich and powerful, representing a growing threat to our national security.
With our economy struggling, we can’t afford to waste billions of dollars every year on a policy that has failed. There’s only one way to eliminate the drug cartels’ profits through legalization and taxation.
A 7 night stay on a caribbean island, 7500.00.
A classic honda 250r, 3500.00.
Completely dumbfounding the FBI director, Robert Mueller, one of Washington, DC’s top bureaucrats while being confronted with the facts and truth about marijuana, PRICELESS!!!!!
HEADSHOT!
That was so absolutely painful to watch. He just skewered that guy completely. I actually felt kinda sorry for him, you could see he was struggling so badly. It’s funny how the people who are so amped up about persecuting drug users get into these situations and trip all over themselves trying to answer even simple questions.
The wall is chipping away, brick by brick. People we need to keep spreading the truth. You have the knowledge! Spread it!
Your last link is broken fix it so I can use it.

All I have to say is, good game, legalization is coming sooner than expected.
That was truly beautiful, Why haven’t I heard about Mr. Cohen? He is obviously one for our side.
The only public defenders of prohibition left are people who stand to lose business or jobs when they’re not employed enforcing the law or spreading propaganda, but that should all change once they realize that they will be equally busy enforcing tax stamps, age restrictions, and spreading facts about safe cannabis use. And they’ll do it all at a fraction of the cost it currently takes to attempt to round up 10 million Americans and ruin their lives.

we can ship the drugs in and make profit on two fronts if we want, we’re the government.
BURN!!!!! LOL that was by far the cooliest thing i ever saw. What was that u cant name anyone who has died from marijuana thats what we thought bitch! god i hate people like him sorry for cursing GREAT JOB
They really want to lump marijuana in with the other drugs so people will consider them one and the same, kudos to Cohen to calling him out on this.
Muellur was lost 4 words knowing they have been lieing this hole time. PittyFull
I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw that video. The look on the FBI directors face was priceless, especially when the Rep. asked the question about people who ruined their lives on pot and then said that addicts started on milk and went to beer and so on. It is just so funny to see the prohibitionist argument fall apart so quickly. The Rep. needs to be praised publicly so the others can see that standing up against prohibition is politically safe.
I love this guy Steve Cohen he gets right to the point that there are much harder drugs out there that are really hurting this country that we should focus on not marijuana. I think every one that lives in his district should write him and thank him for standing up for whats right. an for relizing that the miracle herb marijuana doesn’t hurt our society. please people if you want representives to keep standing up for us we have to take the few mins it takes to tell them we support their efforts.
Very interesting website, wish I had found it earlier. This information will definitely come in handy. Fred
I really like that senator.
He should be on the air more
tell mr. obama your concerns at Open Government: http://opengov.ideascale.com/
When pot is legalized, alcohol use will go down. To me, That’s enough of a reason to legalize by itself. Nothing against alcohol users, because i drink too. A year ago I had no idea that cannabis had no harmful physical side effects. We are all finding out the truth. Keep up the good work NORML. Everyone, Call your senator today, Please!
I love it!!! I’m a Democrate from Tennessee, so it’s great to see a democrate from tennessee school this clown. See, that is the only ground they have left to stand on, lumping marijuana in with the rest of the drug problems the world faces. Once the line is drawn between pot and dangerous drugs, a clear and definable line, we will be free. I hope tennessee is the next state to legalize. From the sounds of this particular elected official, he gets it. Viva Revolution!!!
Hehehe, humility is just deserts.
Wow, he got pwned hard… I hope these debates do lead to quicker legalization, as they should.
Holy Crap it is fun to watch the FBI squirm.
That idiot would be asked about weed and would answer about meth!
I was glad to see someone expose the wrongful connection of marijuana to meth, crack and heroin. He seemed embarrassed and could not defend his position when confronted with the truth. I’d like to hear his explanation for Marijuana being a schedule I drug when the FDA approved marinol, a synthetic THC. There is a three tiered war in our country against cannabis. The tiers are medical use, industrial use and of coarse recreational use. All I ever hear is propaganda to defend the prohibitionist view of marijuana. Thank you MPP & NORML for getting this out! Pass it on people, especially to your representatives. Its another excuse to contact them.
Forward this video clip to everyone you know.
What hearing was this? Committee? Also what CNN show ran this clip and in what context?
I LOVE this video. Awesome. Totally awesome. Way to go!
haha, freed the weed argument, plenty of truth and science etc etc,,,, the prohibitionist argument, errr um um err err um um um
………i rest my case
JOIN NORML THEY NEED MORE PEOPLE AND MONEY, ITS ONLY THRU PEOPLE POWER AND DONATIONS THEY CAN PUT STUFF ON TV AN DO GOOD CAMPIGNS ETC
Thank the Lord Muller went down in flames! And might I say its about damn time someone puts these bureaucrats who think they know what is better for me than I do in their place!!!!!!!!!!
BRAVO!!!! Bring the fight!!! Bring it NOW!!! It is ABUNDANTLY CLEAR that the questioner is FAR more educated, and armed with intelligent and engaging dialogue than the defender. We are MORE THAN READY for the final battle to logically and systematically CRUSH the pitifully thin rhetoric, and propaganda of the prohibitionists. I pray that the people of California realize their HISTORIC opportunity to bring about the final blow against the outdated and exhausted war against a simple plant. The ideology of the 1930’s, is floundering in it’s final gasps for life…as the people of this country express their desire for change, and the euthanasia of our current policies against Marijuana. Pull the plug!
Bring life to a new era of personal freedom for responsible Americans that STRONGLY desire a safe alternative to Alcohol and Cigarettes. Regulate it, Tax it, and lets move on to the next noble fight against oppressive laws that limit the freedoms and liberties of our great country.
California can start a glorious revolution in the Marijuana Movement that can sweep across this land, bringing the green light of freedom to those that have been forced to live in the dark underground of prohibition. I believe, I have faith, and I trust that in the end…the facts, and common sense will be the final death-blow to Marijuana Prohibition.
Well, well, well! It’s time to take our lives back. The bottom line here is making anyone justify their words. Prohibitionist are dumber than I thought, they actually thought their old forms of presenting scary untrue facts would work in 2009 to continue prohibition. From my angle, they’ve just thrown in the towel.
great vid, great screw up on muellers part. now that the feds really dont have a leg to stand on, and the head of the fbi choked, what are they gonna do next? i think re-legalize hell yeah
Hell yeah that was great! Way to go show the FBI they don’t know what they are talkiing about when it comes to maarijuana.
Great video! Awesome!
COHEN FOR PRESIDENT 2012!!!!!!
If you want to write him a letter showing your appreciation for his HONESTY and INTEGRITY, you must go to his page:

Then, use this zip code 38101. Its Memphis, Tenn. just tell him it was the only way to contact him!…This man is doing what his people want him to do. He is a true Representative…and I will vote for him if he would run for President…just on the notion he will legalize pot…
How great is this?!?!?!
“GOOD Morning America” This was the best news I have heard in a long while. It sure is nice to wake up, turn on the old cpu, visit my fav site.
And “holy sh_ _” is this the Top FBI dog getting his ass handed to him on a platter? Yes it is. I had to watch it twice, once was just not enough. I will be sure to share this with all my Norml friends.
Yes, my weary pot brothers and sisters, the time is coming fast, just hope it is before I die from this war.
Peace and pot
That was a very good video that helped prove a point more officials should stand up and support legalization and taxation of marijuana after all about 90% of America smokes marijuana now while it is in prohibition some are closet smokers while others are not. Now days the most commonsense thing to do is simple and that is to legalize and tax marijuana if you are or are not a smoker after all why judge and pass judgement on others when a person has never smoke a joint and wants it kept illegal . That is just plain out prejidous and stupid. They need to legalize and tax marijuana and worry about the more dangerous things as well as more important things that we face instead of keeping marijuana illegal forcing it to supply the enemy if they do this it will do a huge blow to the enemy where it would hurt them the most and that is financially an example of this is instead of suppling the cartel 60% of their profit from marijuana that is kept in prohibition We the USA can use the 60% more towards helping our nation while taking 60% of there net profit away from them (the cartel) . Regardless illegal or legal there is always going to be people getting marijuana from teens to adults how ever at least if it is legal and taxed and treated like alcohol can be controlled some what and would lighten the burden on the economy .
I agree with # 105
tell mr. obama your concerns at Open Government: http://opengov.ideascale.com/ and lets get our voice heard and have marijuana legalized.
Thank ya Jesus…Amen
OUCH! That had to hurt… LOL, loved it!
Marijuana =1
Alcohol+other drugs =0
End of ball game Mr.Director of prohibition !
Representative Steve Cohen (D-Tenn) did an excellent job. He deserves our support in further campaigns. If we could make an effort to give some support to all representatives on the correct and logical side of the cannabis issue, we can get legalization done.
OWNED!! you guys should have put an “OWNED” caption at 2 minutes 43 seconds.
Burn!!! that was the cooliest thing i’ve ever seen. What was that… u cant name anyone who has died from marijuana thats what we thought. Bring on the next asshole who thinks marijuana should stay illegal. Thanks for posting this video.
I would not use the definition “schooled” in reference to this discussion on legalization. First and foremost, there are inconsistencys in the controlled substances act that need changing. Marijuana is not 100% safe, I would state that it is 95% safe because it does not contain chemicals in which cause sudden overdose or longterm bodily damage. I would place marijuana in schedule 2 or 3 of the C.S.A. and have federal resources be placed in investigations of meth, herion, lsd, or any drugs that cause long term damage. Marijuana has never killed anyone, but it will cause chronic bronchitis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder in people who use very, very, very heavy amounts. The topic of “legalizing” all drugs is a terrible idea and will not curb any violence. If America legalized Meth, would that curb drug use? No, it would contribute to more use if anything. Are people using marijuana less in Amsterdam just because weed is legal? No, in fact, teens end up using marijuana at a younger age. Now I’m not saying that situation is life threatining. But if we study the patterns of drug use once they become legalized, we will notice an incline of use, not a decline. So legalizing all drugs, including meth, is dangerous and can become harmful to the economy’s productive side. And this will not stop mexicans from jumping the border to sell there drugs. Enhanced security will protect the border.
I’ll believe it when I see it. The day that the right wing wasp puritan totalitarian police state fascists are defeated. I still think that these defeated republicans will never let go!
legalize it GREAT video keep on keeping on.
my bad forgot i posted this last nite just a little bit of short term memory loss
“Continues to grow” link is broken.
If cannabis is a gateway drug, where are all the tens of millions of meth, crack and heroin addicts? Prohibitionists seem to have about everything except the truth on their side. For prohibitionists, much like other sociopaths, the end always justifies the means and they let nothing, including the truth, stand in their way. Also like psychopaths/sociopaths, prohibitionists are: contemptuous of those who seek to understand them, not perceptive that anything is wrong with them, unable to feel remorse or guilt and seek out situations where their tyrannical behavior will be tolerated, condoned or admired. All these very sick people are not concerned about wrecking others’ lives and dreams, and are indifferent to the devastation they cause. They are all covertly hostile and domineering, bolstered by a grandiose sense of self, and feel entitled to certain things, like trying to run other people’s lives in violation of God given rights guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States. They believe this is “their right.” It is past time prohibitionists got the help they need. Actually, I’d be satisfied if they just minded their own business.
Our Government can find one cannabis plant in the middle of the national forest from a helicopter, but they can’t find Osama Bin Laden? What the hell. Their ethics and morals are a__ backwards.
One drop in the bucket, but many ripples might be generated. Where is the prison reform bill or the commission created from it? We need all these people rounded up into one spot and questioned just like this. Make them show proof that they aren’t just blowing sunshine up our skirts. Once they have been shown to be full of hot air we can accordingly scratch cannabis of our schedule of controlled substances or at least bump it down. It’s astonishing that “educated” people can’t come up with rational policy without being bribed or given a special intrest. this is not government, it’s a corporation. Legalize or get out, I say. These fools should just go work for Mtv or coca-cola if they want to make billions and stop using the country as a cash crop. Public officials are servants of the constituents they represent, as is the president, the head of the fbi and so on. They are supposed to be working for us, not trying to own us. How many more people will have to be prosecuted before the witch hunt is over? This is like Prohibition and the Salem witch trials all rolled into one. Typical, the people are ahead of the government AGAIN.
Yeah thats right, take that ignorance.
http://iblowminds.com/
“Drugs come in cycles” spoken as though this is some bizarre cycle of conspiracy or of nature. ‘Drug cycles’ is either code speak for “whack-a-mole”, or “I’m an idiot”.
On the other hand, drug pricing does come in cycles. Right now, heroin is ‘popular’, because has become cheaper (many countries have troops in Afghanistan making money on the side). Cocaine may be out of favor, because of focused interdiction efforts driving up pricing, making meth so much cheaper and more popular. In time, cocaine’s popularity will be back stronger than ever, just as soon as prices drop.
check out this story’s idea about why Uncle $cam would want to maintain Cannabis prohibition.

How are you going to get pushed onto harder drugs if you buy it from your chemist?
THIIIIINK.
that was awesome. a great point driven home.in my view, focus on the man made shit that is destroying peoples lives.the war on drugs should not include marijuana. that is why guide lines for age should be considered where legalization of marijuana is concerned because, most people who are a little older would tend to be more responsible about trying marijuana and then going to harder stuff.most people tend to have jobs and bills by say, age twenty one to regulate their lives. hats off to some positive video we need lots more of it.

There is a great injustice caused by locking up otherwise law abiding citizens over a silly prohibition that has no rationale.””
Did you know that the government is run by less than 500 people, that tell the rest of the 300 MILLION people what to do (or consume)??
It is high time that WE THE PEOPLE should step in and tell THEM what ought to be done around here. we are the majority and majority rules. This country was founded to provide refuge from tyranny and oppression but here we are a mere 200 years later and we are in the same situation, being oppressed and terrorized domestically, no less. a small number of people are feeding us lies and propaganda filled with misleading “FACTS” and out and out LIES from the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s that were based on fear and prejudice. it is time we clean house, people.
exercise your right as an american by telling your elected officials WHO ARE HIRED TO SPEAK ON OUR BEHALF, that enough is enough- to legalize, not just DEcriminalize marijuana and paraphernalia. OUR money is being spend AGAINST us, and that is not what democracy and representation is about.

bullshit you can die from marijuana(marijuan is worse than tobbaco). you’re crazy and need rehab. stop thinking its going to be legal you stupid stoners(set in you’re ways)and in denial.
I always find it amusing that our goverment relies on law enforcement to give them the scientific data as it relates to marijuana. Their fuction in our society should only be to enforce the laws , not sway it. Why aren’t our goverment officials having scientific and medical professionals testify instead?
# 157
LOL “marijuana is worse than tobbaco”, “you can die from marijuana” Hummmm…What ?
There are no recorded deaths known to mankind in over 5,000 yrs of cannabis use. There is also no scientific proof that cannabis use alone causes cancer anywhere in the body ! But there is some studies that actually suggest cannabis shrinks tumors of the lung and brain. So now who is in denial ? You “r” !

The debate can go on and it’s encouraging to see this debate, but if most are in favor of legalization, why not ask the government to put a suspended status on criminal prosecution for marijuana until things are HASHED out?

When will our rights to privacy be protected in the workplace? I have asked this question many times and never recieved a response..

the best thing to do is to avoid / refuse employers who drug-test,

Hard-drugs, synthetic OTC and prescription-drugs, alcohol and even some FDA-approved food-additives,

To bad that it was not covered by our news stations and
that there wasn’t others who were not scared to share this with every one
after all there is no need for lies and to keep marijuana illegal when we have a choice to legalize and tax it
which the money could be used for things like health and education to name but just a few.

The only public defenders of prohibition left are people who stand to lose
business or jobs when they’re not employed enforcing the law or spreading propaganda,
but that should all change once they realize that they will be equally busy enforcing tax stamps,
age restrictions, and spreading facts about safe cannabis use.

It’s good to know that people are waking up, and like as said the gateway theory is Bulls**t! I know plenty of people who smoke cannibus that don’t use anything else nor have ever as well. As I can admit I picked up my first drink before I knew what Cannibus was so I guess you should call Alcohol a gateway. People pick and choose, and everything that looks good isn’t good as something that dont look good are. No one had died from smoking cannibus nor will anyone ever. But like I said and I tell everyone I give it 10 more years at the MAX even though I don’t think it will be that long.
The only way cannabis could be considered a ‘gateway’ drug is that once you smoke it you realize the government’s been lying to you and then you realize they’re probably lying about everything else. (They are.)
Anslinger was asked if cannabis users were cut off from their supply would they go on to use other drugs and he said definitely not.

i agree with Craig, using marijuana can lead to other drug use but only because prohibition has made the only way to procure it through shady dealers who may also sell other drugs.
its grrrrreeeeaaaattttt
http://opengov.ideascale.com/akira/dtd/3156-4049
Adam thats true, but the responsibility also lies with the buyer, do they have common sence enough to reject the hard dangerous drugs? Theres alot of small time dealers out there that wont touch the other drugs, but the ones who do make a bad name for all of them. The goverments propoganda focuses on pot, while ignoring the dangerous stuff. Ultimately fault lies with them too, they spend so much time lying about pot, they neglect to touch on dangerous drugs, leaving teenagers vulnerable to them. Then when they find out the gov lied to them about pot, and see they dont touch on other drugs, they take it apon themselves to try them. Theres a high number of teens who snort prescription pain killers, but we never hear about that.

My request is that marijuana be removed from Schedule I of the CSA as it no longer conforms to the definition crated back in 1970.
I know that all of us here would like to see prohibition ended, but in these types of questions for the Administartion we all already know the President’s point of view… he is not interested in legalization.
Here’s my take:
If the Fed would reclasify it would allow ALL 50 states the chance to make MMJ available to it citizens. Once the general population was able to see that marijuana doesn’t hurt the user, that there are no increases in marijuana related crime (is there any now?), and teen usage doesn’t spike… maybe then we will see attitudes across the boards change.
We know how the President feels about legalization (do I have to remind everyone of his disrespect in his Online Town Hall meeting?) so why not push him on an idea that he has publically commented positively on?
Cohen did a great job of debunking the so-called “gateway theory” but made little sence with everything else he said. First he said there has been “more people using marijuana” recently then later says marijuana use is “constant and not in waves”. Which is it ? Then later says the “blacks saw it(cannabis) as something crippling and gave it to the mexicans” ? What ? Just the opposite. The mexicans gave it to the blacks. And “crippling” ? I dont know what he is talking about ?
Not only is Mueller doing the nation a disservice by trying to mislead Congress into the “gateway” theory, but as far as I’m concerned he flat-out lied to Congress when he said, “I think anybody who looks at this problem considers it [legalization]. And ultimately when you look at it [legalization] rejects it.”

I, a coupla’ years past, made the mistake of answering yes to a question on a health insurance questionnaire.”Have you ever been in treatment for drug or alcohol abuse?” Having been forced in to a an ASAP class in VA (alcohol and substance abuse) for having one marijuana possesion charge alongside my naivety, I answered yes. Although I was 20 and a non-smoker (minus bud) with no allergies or preexisting complications, I was denied coverage. I thought, how can you be so young, so healthy, and yet be turned away from proper medical care, simply because you have smoked weed in your youth? Who hasn’t? They make sure to ask if you use tobacco. That is more deadly and has much more additives than marijuana. I have since learned the nice(and honest) guy finishes last. These laws and regulations have to change. How can someone legally go to a bar and get plastered but cannot smoke a jay. I know, I know, money makes the world go round. The government makes a lot of money from prosecuting people from bud. But, goddamn. Bud is the least of all evils, and it certainly shouldn’t keep people from recieving health insurance. It might be one thing if I was 90. Does the regular bar patron get denied health coverage? Our country is whack, cuz’ gettin’ people in trouble for something is more profitable than being reasonable. Marijuana addicts? Stupid? Do you have to stoop to the level of namecalling? Because as I recall, namecalling is just plain immature. What’s the matter, don’t have anything intellectual to say? Maybe you and this FBI guy ought to partner up!
If you want to look at it from an intellectual point of view, then why not look at how much money it’s costing to lock people up, when it could be getting taxed and helping our economy out of the mess that the “intellectual” white collar criminals on Wall St. and “intellectual” CEO’s of other legal organizations have gotten us into?

Your post is misguided and you are sadly, misinformed about the greatest mood-altering substance known to man.
It is true that a marijuana user can develop a psycological preference to the drug. However, do not confuse that preference to an addiction. Marijuana is not addictive, users do not kill people, and the more than two hundred people who have replied to this video are not making other people get addicted (not possible).
So until you take a hit and realize what marijuana actually is, keep your opinion on this issue to yourself.
