These are the last days to register online to attend NORML’s 2012 national conference, ‘The Final Days of Prohibition,’ taking place Thursday, October 4th through Saturday, October 6th at The Omni Los Angeles Hotel.
Former CA Assemblyman and peace activist Tom Hayden will speak on Thursday morning. Best-selling travel author and TV host Rick Steves and NORML Founder Keith Stroup will address attendees at Friday’s Keynote luncheon, “Observations on the Final Days of Prohibition”.
Round-table sessions and plenary speeches at NORML’s 41st annual conference include:
- Pot-n-Politics 2012: A Review of Statewide Reform Initiatives Impacting Cannabis Consumers
- Cannabis and the ‘Demo’ Gap: Who Does Not Support Cannabis Legalization and What Can We Do About It
- Cannabis Legalization and Taxation: What Might It Look Like?
- Broken Promises: Obama Administration and Federal Blowback Against Medical Cannabis Industry
- The Changing Face of the Medical Cannabis Community
- Seventy-Five Years of Cannabis Prohibition in America: A Review of the Cannabis Prohibition Epoch in America
- Past is Prologue – Women’s Role in Ending American Prohibition[s]
States NORML’s Executive Director Allen St. Pierre: “2012 marks the beginning of the end of cannabis prohibition. A majority of Americans for the first time now acknowledge wanting to end marijuana prohibition and replace it with a system of legalization and regulation, and this November, voters in a handful of states are poised to embrace this common sense policy. The 2012 national NORML Conference reflects upon the decades of failure imposed by prohibition, celebrates our recent progress at amending this policy, and looks forward to the very near future when cannabis prohibition is abolished once and for all.”
Social events include a Wednesday night welcoming reception, a Thursday night Activist Awards Ceremony, a joint High Times/NORML party and ‘Not-So-Silent’ Auction, a NORML Women’s Alliance Luncheon, and a Saturday night fundraiser at ‘The Hemp Museum’ in downtown Los Angeles.
NORML invites the public to join hundreds of like-minded marijuana law reformers at the nation’s only annual conference dedicated to ending cannabis prohibition.
Online registration and day passes, as well as details regarding conference speakers, agenda, and social events, is available at here.
This war should be over. There are WAY more drugs in USA now and BETTER since Nixon’s war on drugs began. Fuck the other drugs, we would all have better lives and life experiences if this useful, safe drug was made legal or nationalized. It’s true.
There are all manner of beasts in the field now!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have conferences in the east once in a while if your the world rocking entity you claim to be.
It’s Time For A Vote/ Referendum:
Since alcohol and tobacco are far worse than marijuana but yet are legal and those who oppose marijuana hypocritically partake in drinking and cig smoking, I purpose this. We group marijuana alcohol and cigarettes in 1 group. The U. S has a nationwide referendum to vote yes for the legalization of all of these drugs or no for the legalization of all of these drugs. If you vote yes for one you vote yes for all vice versa with voting no. Basically combining all marijuana, alcohol, and tobacco user’s votes because if they vote no then their drug of choice will be illegal. This will be on a federal level so all rules apply to all states. It is our right as U. S citizens to propose and adopt this no matter what bullshit reason the government gives us. And I’m sick of politicians voting on issues on their personal reflection and not what’s best for those who have voted for them. And if this doesn’t pass some high thinker think out of the box and try another idea until we can smoke in peace as those who drink and smoke cigs do.

What are you 12?
It is good to see this happening! Needs to keep happening on a frequent basis so people become aware and realize what is happening in the country! Change is on the horizon!
If you take a rock for your self and break it in half… you will have an edge of precision……… and you will be able to eat.
I remember listening to the rock band-Boston in the mid 70s(at my best friends house) we where high on Thai- Stick (from moms purse) and enjoying a bottle of gin that we were carefully (consuming) at the time!
Dad(who was in the Air-Force) got home in the late evening, and Busted us with the watered down gin that he inspected every night as usual.
When people laugh don’t asume they are not listening! 🙂
Sorry y’all I was just nourished with the milk and now im alive. We do need a conference over here on the east to perhaps discuss matters! Peace y’all ughhhh
Im gonna get up this 4.20$ at some point. Thank you norml
Hello Everyone,
@Somedood, I agree with you. NORML should have an east cost convention. I would love to go to a convention. However, NORML has chosen places where cannabis is/or almost is legal.
I believe we also need to support NORML financially. I am pledging $10.00 a month That is about .33 cent a day. So I would like to challenge you all to pledge $10.00 or more a month, to do your part in supporting NORML; .33 cents a day is something almost anyone can afford.
I believe Prohibition will be over soon too. The government is going to be forced to give us what we want. We all have to continue to fight this stupid war on drugs, which has become a war on people. People who just want to smoke pot, it is utterly absurd!
I Have a video that everyone in the US should and needs to watch. So Please my fellow Americans ..and maybe you can write someone in the Gov.So Please watch
