States that have legalized the sale of cannabis for either medical or adult-use have collected more than $8.7 billion in marijuana-related taxes since 2021.

“Consumers are unwittingly consuming contaminated products,” researchers reported.
Sixty-one percent of cannabis consumers say that it has a “positive” effect on “most people who use it.”
Cannabis decriminalization will “help address systemic inequities and promote treatment-focused alternatives to criminal penalties for substance use disorders,” the ACP resolved.
“The rescheduling of marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III … would not alter DOT’s marijuana testing requirements,” Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg told Congress.
Federal: House Committee Approves Amendment Barring Production of Hemp-Derived Intoxicating Products
The amendment targets products containing cannabinoids that “are not capable of being naturally produced” by the hemp plant or that are the result of a chemical synthesis.
Retail cannabis sales generated the greatest amount of tax revenue in California, followed by Illinois, Washington, and Michigan.
