Study: Cannabis Therapy Associated With Sustained Declines in Opioid Use Among Chronic Pain Patients
“These results suggest that medical cannabis may be a useful adjunct therapy for reducing opioid use, relieving chronic pain, and improving health-related quality of life.”
The bill’s sponsor said that its passage will “ensure that [marijuana] violations in school zones result in real, enforceable consequences.”
“Our findings highlight the potential therapeutic value of cannabinoids in managing obesity and related metabolic disorders.”
Respondents frequently voice “concerns about adverse effects, long-term health risks, or dependency associated with pharmaceutical medications and view cannabis as a safer alternative.”
Among those respondents ages 18 to 35, nearly six percent acknowledged using cannabis products to aid their sleep.
“To clarify further, tetrahydrocannabinols produced through chemical conversion, even when hemp-derived, are considered synthetically produced for purposes of the Controlled Substances Act.”
Plaintiffs argue that the rescheduling order “exceeds the authority of the Attorney General under the CSA and is otherwise arbitrary and capricious.”
