Prohibitionists aren’t just fighting to prevent or repeal marijuana legalization. They’re also trying to take the decision away from voters entirely.
Idaho lawmakers are asking Idahoans to relinquish one of the most fundamental powers they have in a free society: their power to vote.
“In many prohibition states, a significant portion of law enforcement and prosecutorial resources are still being directed toward arresting tens of thousands of cannabis consumers for activities that are now perfectly legal in nearly half of this country.”
According to statewide polling compiled by the campaign, over 80 percent of Idahoans support legalizing medical cannabis access.
“The public remains committed to adult-use legalization and medical cannabis access, and it is our responsibility to galvanize this public opinion and ensure that it prevails in 2026 at state houses and at the ballot box.”
“It is becoming clear that those who oppose marijuana policy reform would rather take voters out of the equation altogether.”
Those who support legalizing marijuana are not part of the ideological fringe; we are the majority. It’s time for us to act like it and for lawmakers to treat cannabis consumers with the respect they deserve.
