The new rules increase transaction limits for adult consumers from one-quarter ounce of cannabis flower (or its equivalent) to one-half ounce.
“The presence of a dispensary has no significant impact on local crime in the average neighborhood,” the study’s authors concluded.
Over 25 percent of the state’s independently owned pharmacies have reportedly agreed to dispense cannabis oil products.
The total is an uptick from last year’s figures, but represents only a minority of financial institutions nationwide.
Regulators are prohibited from issuing licenses for any new medical cannabis dispensaries, processors, or commercial growers until 2026.
