“We have never seen such dramatic decreases in drug use among teens in just a one-year period,” said Nora Volkow, Director of the US National Institute on Drug Abuse, which funded the study.

A supermajority of US physicians say that cannabis is medicinal, and over one-quarter have recommended it to their patients.
Support for cannabis legalization was strongest among Democrats (70 percent), those respondents between the ages of 25 and 44 years old (62 percent), and Independents (61 percent).
NORML’s Deputy Director said, “At a time when politics remain acutely polarized, elected officials ought to come together in a bipartisan manner to repeal the failed policy of cannabis prohibition.”
Gallup pollsters determined that “solid majorities of U.S. adults in all major subgroups by gender, age, income and education support legalizing marijuana.”
More than twice as many respondents said that they would prefer to live in a state where marijuana was fully legal.
Support is strongest among millennials and Gen Xers — nearly 80 percent of whom endorse legalization.
Seven in ten state-licensed physicians support the legalization of cannabis for therapeutic purposes.
