Czech Republic Legalizes Cannabis For Medicinal Consumption

Czech Republic Legalizes Cannabis For Medicinal ConsumptionPrague, Czech Republic: Czech Republic President Vaclav Klaus signed legislation into law last week legalizing the use of cannabis for therapeutic purposes.

Under the new law, patients with a physician’s authorization will be able to access cannabis from pharmacies.

Initially, cannabis will be imported into the country. However, the law also allows for the eventual domestic production of cannabis for medical purposes by state-licensed producers.

Individual patients will not be allowed to cultivate their own cannabis under the law.

Canada, Israel, and The Netherlands also allow for the state-licensed production of medical marijuana for qualified patients.
