“Under matched puffing conditions, vaporization of cannabis flower reduced exposure to these harmful compounds by up to 99 percent compared with joint smoke,” researchers concluded.
Those with a history of cannabis use were approximately 20 percent less likely than non-users to suffer from type 2 diabetes and they were more than 40 percent less likely to be obese.
“We are doing everything we can to make sure this industry is set up for success and that we remain competitive in this fast-growing market,” the Governor said.
“Across product types, there were differences between labeled and lab-tested THC concentrations, with a pattern that packages reported higher THC levels than were found in products,” investigators concluded.
Governor Reeves opined that the measures would “erode safeguards” and would “extend the ‘right to try medical cannabis’ to every person on the planet.”
“Passage of these amendments will result in a return to racially discriminatory marijuana arrests across Virginia, while also compromising public safety by continuing to drive consumers to the unregulated market for at least another year.”
