Earlier this year NORML requested your assistance to help us launch the first ever nationwide television ad campaign calling for the regulation of cannabis for adults. Because of your generous support, NORML was able to purchase over 7,500 ad buys in all 50 states on cable networks like CNN, CNBC, Fox News, Fuse, FX Networks, G4, MSNBC, CNN Headline News, and Spike TV. These ads were viewed by over 2.4 million households nationwide.
Today we are asking for your help so that we can once again make history.
For the past several weeks NORML has been negotiating with CBS radio to launch the nation’s first live talk radio show dedicated to all things cannabis: NORML SHOW LIVE: Marijuana Nation. That’s right, NORML is planning to take the talk radio world by storm – and we intend to smoke the competition!
NORML SHOW LIVE, will be hosted by Russ Belville – the voice of NORML’s daily podcast, the Audio Stash — and will air on ChatAboutIt.com, the next generation of talk radio. ChatAboutIt.com streaming online radio is powered by CBS radio and features original and cutting edge programming – available free over the internet or via download on your iPhone or Blackberry.
The cultural and political influence of talk radio is undeniable and is growing –- as is the popularity of streaming radio. Today, one in seven adults between the ages of 18 to 54 listens to online radio. This audience has more than doubled over the past four years and is expected to grow significantly in the future. NORML’s content and message naturally appeals to this demographic, which is frequently turning away from the mainstream media and turning to groups like NORML to obtain fact-based educational and political information about the world’s most popular plant.
However, before we launch this effort, we want to hear from you — the cannabis community. Please offer us your thoughts and suggestions regarding how we can make NORML SHOW LIVE: Marijuana Nation the premiere talk destination for activists and NORML supporters. I have no doubt that much of the success of this venture will be based on the active participation and support of our members and listeners.
Even more importantly, we need your donations to help defray the start-up costs associated with launching and publicizing NORML SHOW LIVE: Marijuana Nation. In the coming weeks we need to create an unprecedented “buzz” in the marijuana law reform community, and within the talk radio industry, about our new show. Specifically, we need to print and distribute flyers at upcoming events, such as the Seattle Hempfest, place online banners on marijuana-friendly websites, purchase advertising in talk-radio trade magazines, and pay for updated studio equipment and voice-over technology.
NORML SHOW LIVE intends to be the voice of the marijuana nation for the students, homemakers, retirees, soldiers, patients, professionals, and working people who demand equal treatment under the law and for an end to America’s longest and costliest war. For a one-time donation here of $100, $25, or even just $10, you can assure that your voice will heard by millions. Marijuana law reformers will no longer have to be dependent on the mainstream media; we can be a part of the mainstream media.
Finally, NORML SHOW LIVE is seeking advertisers! If you have a business or a product, and would like to utilize and cost-effective way to reach millions of listeners each week, please contact russ@norml.org or call toll-free 888-772-3422 to inquire about our discounted introductory ad rates.
NORML would like to thank you in advance for helping us make history — again.

I just want to say that this is a great idea, and I am very excited. Kudos NORML and keep up the good work! (added by Mobile using Mippin)
Lots of NORML news today! Will there be a podcast of the show(s) made available too? I’d love to download and listen to them on my iPod or computer anytime, instead of a set time.
Keep up the great work!
Way to go NORML. I just made my donation to help the cause and I hope all of you will do the same. The more we present the truth to the voting public the better are chances are of getting this destructive law laid to rest. Thanks again to all of the good people at NORML. The truth rolls on!!!
Well, well, well, now NORML can invite opponents to the show for debates and NORML is in charge of the line of questions and commentary! Big smile : )
Awesome! I can’t wait to tune in.
Good job. You should have on lots of prohibitionists and make em look foolish. Maybe a year or two and NORML can get a cable network.
Yes there will be podcasts available. Also, you can still get our Daily Audio Stash podcast at http://stash.norml.org
This is wonderful news! I would suggest really focusing on the harms that prohibition is causing, putting an emphasis on how much the economy is suffering for it as well. It is great to hear about the benefits legalizing cannabis could bring to this nation, but I think it would be the most beneficial to the cause (as well as more convincing for skeptics) to put the main focus upon how the way it is now is not working. I sort of consider myself to be a war generation youth living in this era so ‘ending the war on drugs’ would be a nice effort in starting to make this nation a more peaceful place again.
GO FOR IT! Above all else, be rigerously honest. My wife gets paid soon and I’ll sent you a few bucks. I wish NORML fair winds and following seas for this promising effort.
Great step forward in reform. Keep it up NORML and Russ Belville! Will be subscribed on the BB and Ipod 🙂

Indeed this is good news . Now NORML is ding this I say let us all help NORML with our thoughts and suggestions regarding how we can make NORML SHOW LIVE: Marijuana Nation the premiere talk destination for activists and NORML supporters. Also continue to support NORML any and all ways we can to help NORML do their best.
If NORML uses our thoughts and suggestions that we are currently are doing now through what we have been posting then it may help NORML not only to be one of the biggest talk in history but at the same time will help boost the cause.
So fellow patriots I say in short let us help NORML make history by giving NORML our thoughts and suggestions. Remember together we can and shall make a huge difference.
Outstanding!

I’m so glad to hear about this. We should focus also on the economic impact or benefits our beloved plant can give us considering out current economic conditions.
I don’t really have any suggestions, you guys are already doing some awesome things with the Daily Audio Stash and if the radio show is anything like it then I’m sure it’ll be great. I would like to see some real debates though, get some prohibitionists on the program and have lengthy debates, whenever I see them on TV news or hear them on the radio they’re always 5-10 minutes at most. That’s not enough time to get all the relevant information out there, so 20-30 minute debates (even longer if need be) would be a welcome addition to the show. It’d also be nice to hear from doctors, medical marijuana patients, POWs in the War on Drugs, and you know your average every day people who have something to say about the subject. That way listeners can really connect to the issue and we aren’t always just preaching to the choir. We need to get more of your average Joe’s on board and get them to see why ending cannabis prohibition is one of the best things we can do for this country right now. That’s my .02
thank-you guys for working so hard at what you do first off!
Ofcourse I really feel you guys should try and continue with the mainstreaming of the movement! I listen to an awesome talk show hosted by a proskateboarder/man of many talents….moto, mma, band frontman,Xgames host~~ Jason Ellis, he is on Sirius/XM ch28 radio faction, I think it would be super beneficial for us and the movement if you guys tried to get an ad or interview with him. He is blowing up~appeals to a huge age range~ and is a big advocate for marijuana. Who knows if this is possible, but I bet it is considering he openly talks about it almost everyday!
Keep up the good work~ Fight the good fight~ Thanx again =)
I think it’s an awesome idea! Russ is a great interviewer and host. But I would recommend having a number of different types of shows and hosts. For example, I would love to do a show…I am brimming with cannabis-related knowledge–social, historical, medical, geographic, religious, environmental–and friends have told me in the past that I should have my own radio show. So, that’s what I think! Thanks for asking, NORML!
I agree with #1 and give you guys kudos for this idea, but I have to admit, I’ve never heard of the website that the show will be streamed from (and I’m a DAILY talk-radio listener. I would love to see NORML have a show on the more popular right-sided radio outlets (those that play rush limbaugh, hannity and other bigoted fat-heads)
but I have to be a realist and understand that this is about as impossible as a square plug going into a round hole (which almost is a not-far-from-the-truth metaphor).
Remember, as the saying goes, “there’s no such thing as bad publicity” so any effort from any pro-marijuana group is definitely a notch in our belts.
Props again, guys.
That’s great news! I’ll be sure to listen
A.G. Eric Holder is on the news today about “homegrown terrorists”. Corrupt cops, like the ones who tried framing a Miami girl today, are the real terrorists.
I also see that Obama wants Gates and Crowley to have a round of beers at the White House to “ease tensions” of the ridiculous situation he involved himself with.
Just like the new book “Marijuana Is Safer” says, alcohol makes people more agitated, and offensive and is not as safe or healthy as cannabis. If these three relaxed and enjoyed some cannabis, I think they might be better able to resolve things rather than bringing alcohol into the situation.
What do you other NORML supporters think should be addressed and discussed on the radio show?
Sending $10 in even though I’m unemployed!
Keep keeping Cannabis in the forefront!
I’m gonna start spreading the word.
Awesome guys! There is so much happening in this country right now. People are looking to fix what our leaders have screwed! I’m starting to have hope again. If I can aford to donate to this next month I will.
Internet radio…
Sorry to rain on your parade, but I’m a bit skeptical. It seems like 99% people that will listen are the people that go on this site regularly.
this is awesome. i would like to see every sterotype about cannabis and the people that use cannabis busted wide open. i want america to wake up and see the waste of resources, loss of revenue, and erosion of our civil rights that is prohibiton of cannabis.
Totally awesome, finally something good that will be on the radio.
I’ll send in my $10 for this even though I’m trying frantically to pay off credit card debt. So worth it.
Get prohibitionists on to expose how ridiculous they are. Get intelligent highly educated active in their community people that smoke pot on to show how many otherwise mainstream people smoke pot. I know I was taught the perception that pot was so ghetto but that blew up until my new best friend in high school told me she smoked pot and then it was all over. Get medical people on to talk about the benefits, not just for medical cases but benefits for healthy people that smoke (geez, I’m 51 and have been smoking now for 70% of my life)
get politicians on that support legalization. Get public officials that have marijuana legalized or “lowest priority” in their juristiction.
WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMEICA, HEREBY REDRESS OUR GRIEVANCES. WE PROCLAIM OUR NATIONAL MOOD, AND THE WILL OF WE THE PEOPLE.
We Americans operate on “instant instinct.” Our entire minds contain all of our thoughts, and all of out words. We Americans were raised on feelings. We have been raised on freedom…freedom of worship, thought, and speech…freedom from judicial injustice, and religious intolerance. We are offended by the infamy of intolerance, and authoritarian suppression of freedom in thought and word. The oppressive power of My Evil Brother, must be kept firmly in mind and sight, so to appear in his perspective. Our minds are the most powerful weapons we possess. We must use our wit to forge weapons of war. Knowledge gives us power over My Evil Brother. Wisdom exceeds folly…as light exceeds darkness.
We have…this very day…all the necessary ingrediants …”brewing”…that caused the American Revolution…that which we fought and died for. The most recognizable of these ingrediants is the continued aggressive assassanation of our Constitutionally guaranteed rights. My Evil Brother, with malace of forethought, is violating our Constitution…with absolute disregard for the rest of our nations citizenry…and…when the laws of a nation oppress the rights of its citizenry…anarchy is created. My Evil Brother’s politics is…My Evil Brother’s politics only. As for me personally…”I am the cause of things that effect me.” This I know for sure…when I look to other’s words to speak for me
…silence might very well be the strongest voice I can use. There’s a time to speak…and…a time to keep silent. Then too…I can’t walk around with a big ‘ole happy face…when the ground is crumbling under my feet. At any rate…”The choices I make…
dictate the life I will lead…the rest is silence.” In that silence…I’m reminded that the idea of truth should not be held so close that it becomes grotesque.
What I do hold close is the knowledge that when I give up on my hopes and dreams…my nothing grows stronger.
Therefore, my demand as a free human being is to be left “alive” in my own beliefs, where everything is allowed to be…”just what it is.” I suppose I could let my true feelings die with the rest of me…but…
until the last line is spoken…the curtain can’t come down.
Men should never judge their own cause…just present their case. It’s what you’re showin,’ that makes a difference to who is lookin’. If what you’re showin’, is the beast you’ve become…trying to defeat the beast…you’ve lost.
My Faith is “my belief system.” Not only do I believe in my Faith…I trust it! Therefore…I will not go quietly into the night…I will slug it out…every inch of the way. I will do what all Americans ultimately do…I will do that which is right in my own eyes and conscience. I will honor my cause, and I will be the “Rebel with a Cause”…true to my nature…to the hilt…to the very end…amen
I think a radio show is an excellent step in generating the public presence necessary for cannabis to become politically acceptable as a discussable subject. Maybe this isn’t mainstream, but i see the possibility for an engine of commerce from which we can finance greater steps into the public eye.
My suggestion, is that we utilize an indirect method in our programming to attract more viewers and more importantly, advertisers. There should definitely be debates and discussions to immediately advance our political position, but also sensationalist and demographic-pandering shows to generate an economic interest in ‘Marijuana Nation’.
There were definitely quite a few submissions for the NORML commercial we aired, so how bout we tap that same resource and ask the public to create some theme music, slogans, and help pick their favorite hosts and guests.
First and foremost let’s treat this like a business, because in the end unfortunately that will be our most powerful political tool. This is an untouched market, so if the channel is a success I’m sure very quickly we would see opportunities for greater media coverage and other political outlets to push forward through.
HELL YES! You know for the past few weeks i was really losing hope in our cause, but the fact that CBS was willing to give a group that advocates the responsible use of an “illegal substance” has shot my spirits up. This is a sign that the news media (our biggest necessary evil and ally)and maybe some key politicians(guys who have political ties to major media moguls)are ready to blow the lid open on these 80 years of failed protocols and senseless violence.
“I have no doubt that much of the success of this venture will be based on the active participation and support of our members and listeners.”
Indeed, the support needs to come from the bottom up. A strong foundation will build itself. Put your thinking caps on America, the ball is in your court.
I’d like to see an online tv show, whether by NORML or somebody else. The episodes could be shared on YouTube to be spread around by networking sites.
It could also be downloaded and distributed to local public access tv stations around the country. It looks like CannabisPlanet.tv will soon be starting a show, so that’s a start.
I like the idea. If anything I would recommend, a good diverse range of subjects and guests on the show.
Think of subjects like, legal, activist, current events, growing stories and tips, cooking recipes and tips, and plenty of audience call ins.
I’d also (personally) like the show to stay away from the “getting high” crowd, no references to this or that weed smoking rap group, or anything that would stereotype weed smokers. For instance, if Tommy Chong would be a guest, lets talk about his fight against the DEA, and less about how funny the Cheech and Chong movies are.
I can’t wait to listen.
It would be nice to have a another Paul Harvey, and this time he is cannabis friendly and spreading the word to help stop prohibition.
This is another great idea to move us farther along the continuum from complete prohibition to legalization. I suspect I won’t get to hear it on any of my local radio stations, however. I live in a very prohibitionist, rural, republican area, and just to give you an idea I am stuck with a local rag of a newspaper that has an editorial staff that jumped on the birther bandwagon. Sadly, it’s place where an close examination of the facts is irrelevant, and the notion of libertine individual freedoms is replaced by right-wing fundamentalism.

to #23 ed,
i here your screamin ed but, it is still a step in the right direction….would’nt it be great if this information could get into the homes of those who would’nt normally listen to it or see it on public tv even though they have and opinion about marijuana and that opinion is based on information given from tha pastyears of shit like refer madness.and the b.s.government testing?so many people are shelled up about marijuana and its benefits.their must be a way to allow people to learn to seperate marijuana from the real problem drugs in america…..
I think the radio shows are a real step in the direction of legalizing marijuana. I am going to make a donation this month (August). I am retired living on Social Security; which is not much. I am a Vietnam vet who has smoked marijuana since 1965. That is going on 44 years. I read the article about the guy who went into Borders Book Store and not being able to find one thing on the subject of marijuana. I also saw that Michael Phelps being dropped by the commercial for Kellogg’s cereal. The good thing was that Subway picked him up for their commercial. I would like to see a list of companies that are against or who don’t support legalization of marijuana. I would support this list as companies to be boycotted by marijuana smokers and supporters. It does little good to support something when the same person goes to a place like Borders and buys a book that costs $30.00. These companies have to realize that we DO NOT want to do business with them Thanks…
Get Michael Phelps to do an interview about his marijuana experiences. That will draw listeners.
has anyone considered “WATER” in the argument for ending the prohibition on cannabis & hemp?
it takes roughly 200 to 700 liters of water to make one litre of WINE. http://wineindustryinsight.com/?p=1415 lets say a conservative wineo drinks a bottle every other day rounding down to 3 bottles a week. in six months that person has consumed 78 bottles of wine, which (78*450=) roughly 35,000 liters of water to support their choice of vice over six months, or 192 liters PER DAY.
on my last 3 month indoor grow cycle, i used less then 700 liters of water to grow 6 cannabis plants (3 sativas & 3 indicas). these 6 plants have lasted me just about 6 months, and i consume more then the average cannabis user, which comes out to less then 4 liters a day.
we are in a time of water shortage, which “vice” or “choice” is better for the planet???
END THE PROHIBITION ON CANNABIS & HEMP and help SAVE our WATER SUPPLY
Cool can’t wait! Also I would like to tell norml that I’m currently working on my business and one’s m company grows and beomes legit I will give u guys a call to ask u guys to put my company name on ur website. I hope verything goes as I planned. Later my people. (added by Mobile using Mippin)

Dear NORML,
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the efforts y’all go through to educate the public on marijuana’s immeasurable economic, social, and medical advantages, and for representing the large group of Americans who use it. I’ve just spent the afternoon perusing through endless articles, some pro-marijuana some anti-marijuana, and it is staggering the irrelevancy of the opposing arguments that keep these unrepresented laws in place. Here is a question that I would love y’all to answer…I wonder if there is a way you (or I) can file suit on the government for imposing such unjust and distorted laws, and even on top of that, what would it take to get this law reformed? If you look at thier argument against ours, we definitely have an educated advantage. Unfortunately I do not have any money to donate, all I can do is send you some good vibes. I can’t wait to hear y’all on the radio, congratulations on that great accomplishment. Oooh one more question, What can I do in Texas to help NORML?
All of my love,
Alexandra
[Editor’s note: There are a number of NORML chapters in TX…get involved at the local level…change the laws where you live]
WOW AWESOME NEWS NORML ! # 24 hit it right on the head ! NOW THATS HEALTH CARE REFORM YOU CAN BELIEVE IN !
I hate to rain on the parade, but most people who listen to radio do it in their automobiles. Get CBS to put this program on national airwaves where it will be heard rather than “throw us a bone” to keep us under control.
Wake up people!!! Do not be satisfied with ANYTHING less than FULL OUT LEGALIZATION.
…and the only people tuning in to internet radio will be us. So NORML will accomplish nothing except preaching to the choir.

I like to see a television commercial were a quiet happy family with children all sitting around watching television and suddendly the door busted open and guns being drawn on the whole family. The DEA got the wrong house and the family dog is shot to pieces.
Or how about children being taken away to a dirty old shelter by the cops because mom and dad got busted for possesion of marijuana.
Or that a person was sentenced for two weeks in county jail for a simple possesion and ended up dead with no explanation.
Do these things really happen and how often?

You said the magic word Doc!…”BOYCOTT.” IF WE DIDN’T LEARN ANYTHING FROM THE ’60’S AND ’70’S…THE
LAST REVOLUTION…we certainly should acknowledge the reality that BOYCOTTING WORKS. Sit downs…sit ins…
sit on their face…works. We can…take them down again with the act of doing nothing…ABSTAIN. Let’s do it. For those of you out there that won’t do anyhting…do just that…do nothing…but…do nothing with a purpose.
Here’s a thought…the next time you go to buy anything
…ask the store manager if that product supports the prohibition of cannabis. If the answer is yes…hand it to the manager…and…”WALK AWAY.” BOYCOTT. The manager may even think that the store could be next on your hit list.
In one word…”PERFECT”!!!
All I, and the rest of my kind here in GA want, is to be able to here this show on the radio while we are at work!
Please make sure that it’s available for all Georgians to here, because, in this part of the country we’ve been kept so far in the dark about the movement, it’s not even funny!
I have personally gone out of my way to educate and inform everyone I know, to get the real truth out about canna here in GA, but have been met with much skepticism.
I whole heartedly believe that education is the key to our success and the true believers like myself, need to have an educated answer to give any nay-Sayer who gives out one of their lame excuses to continue their prohibition and even worse, their destructive war on hard working, tax paying, adult Americans!
The main excuse I’ve been given is, “we don’t want kids smoking pot and legalization will only give them easier access to it”
My answer/comeback to this is so easy and true…”Kids already have all the access to marijuana they need, the black market makes sure of that, but, by putting marijuana into an ADULT ONLY setting for only adults with the proper I.D. to purchase (like alcohol) you have actually then made it more difficult for kids to obtain.”
I think another avenue to take in our struggle, is to make marijuana prohibition into a discrimination issue, because every time I see/hear these anti-pot commercials and road signs, etc… I feel that they are singling out a very large part of society and running hard working/tax paying people down, like we are just scum and should be eradicated!
Where do THEY get off using non-fact based campaigns like that anyway?
These “Above The Influence” propagandist/socialist who show these crappy commercials will never tell the general public about the millions of hard working people who wind up in prison and can no longer support their families, which in turn disrupts their kid’s lives, which in turn, keeps the vicious cycle of uneducated and deprived kid’s going.
Hard working adult Americans, should be left alone to raise their kids properly, without interference from corrupt law enforcement officials, who’s sole purpose in life, is to rip apart descent families and flood the foster care system with kids who usually wind up getting into violent crime and/or heavy drug addiction, where as, if they’re parents had been left alone to raise them, more than likely, they would have wound up to be good kids…so what’s wrong with this picture?!
I can’t wait to hear this new talk show, and I hope you guy’s will post which radio stations to pick it up on in every state, city and town all across this country, because, I don’t want to miss a single minute of it!
THANKS NORML!!!
#49, joel,
yes, that would be a shock to those who dont know the truth. that causes my mind to run like mad about what kinds of advertisements we could think up. you know , stuff about mom an dad who work like norml people and ,pay their bills, have friends and are kind to everybody and, even attend church. you know , the good and wholesome thing and then after helpin the children they love dearly with their homework, quietly slip away for five minutes to hit the vaporizer a couple times after the long day……. and ask, whats so wrong with this? man, wish i was a lotto winner. norml would have t.v. time fer sure!
We the People of “OUR” great sovereign United States of America…know fully “OUR” resposibility to “OUR” government…but…We the People also know “OUR” governments responsibilty to We the People. It’s government’s responsibility to “TELL THE TRUTH.” It’s that…which We the People are most concerned with…
because…”OUR” government has made “THE TRUTH” starnger than fiction, and transparency opaque and obscure.
The things We the People know…are not useful in My Evil Brother’s so called New World Order. We the People comprehend intuitively…”TRUTH”…beyond human understanding…for We the People “REJECT” imprisioned
states of mind.
There are two ways to be fooled. One is to belive what isn’t true…the other is to refuse to believe what is true. The less government…the fewer laws…
the less confided power we have…the better. The antidote to this…”ABUSE OF FORMAL GOVERNMENT…
is the influence of private character…the growth of the individual. One thing is plain…”A CERTAIN PERSONAL VIRTUE IS ESSENTIAL TO FREEDOM.” We must never allow ourselves to reach “THE POINT” where the “TRUTH” is ebbed out of us…and…we do not know enough to be free.
It has become doubtful whether corruption has not gone a little over the mark of safety…so that when canvassed…we shall be found to be made up of a majority of reckless self-seekers.
Am I driven to the “POINT OF NO RETURN”…you bet your ass I am. But…equally so…government has passed the “POINT OF NO RETURN.” They have taken brinksmanship to its outer limits..and…stepped over the line drawn in the sand. Consequently, they are now looking straight down the barrel of We the Peoples tolerance, and ability to take the bitter with the sweet.
The government has taken something away from me, and I can’t remember ever giving them permission to do that. I hope they completely understand the ramifications of their aristocratic arrogance. I certainly understand governments modus operandi.
So!…it is their absolute audacity to rule me that causes me to tell them…”GO STICK YOUR HEAD IN THE TOILET AND FLUSH IT.” I am an island onto myself, and I will defend that island at all costs. I have already raised my right hand, and sworn allegiance to “DEFEND MY COUNTRY AND ITS CONSTITUTION AGAINST ALL ENEMIES…FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC.” Government has become the “ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE”…and…We the People know how to deal with home grown terrorists. Government is the anarchist.
The free ground that We the People stand on is tapped solid by the feet of individual action…so…the fate of individual freedom depends entirely upon We the People’s defense of it.
Where can i get that poster on the front page?

Great idea!!! I’ve been doing something similar for a long time: I can buy a case of Natural Ice beer for about $13.50. When I reach the cashier, I lament “The only reason I am buying this beer is because I can’t find any cannabis in this town”. Or, when I meet a fellow tenant who may remark on the case of beer I am bringing into my home “This is what the government wants me to do. They don’t want me to smoke cannabis, so I will get drunk”. Or, when people ask me if I drink, I reply “ONLY WHEN THERE IS NO WEED TO BE SMOKED”.
You know, I used to be a radio show host in New Mexico back in 1997. If anyone has any ideas or connections to get our OWN radio station, I would gladly host for free.
Ive made my donation to this great cause. It will be great to see opponnents of the movement get caught up in their lies on air, if they dare agree to a debate.
Hey, great new’z! Any idea of being able to have bumber stickers rollin’ around some peep’z cars? Or contest’s where a few people earn a trip to a up-coming function or some? Or getting the info. from facebook (or some) and print a chart with the level of “fans” that you have where. I’d like to see what Cali. looks like, and maybe some-time on air, inform the listeners…
The list is endless!!
Any chance the laws will ever change? I just ready for what every one here thinks to get to the rest of the US. Maby there is just to much money on the other side…
R.O.E…Neurogenesis1:29…TMH…and all of similar mind.
Did you catch 165 TMH 08.03.09 @ 6:43 am on ROLLING STONE: DRUG CZAR KERLIKOWSKI’S ‘STRICKING REVERSAL’ ON MARIJUANA. Here’s my 2 cents.
DO YOU WANT PROHIBITION TO ACTUALLY END?
If you want it to “actually happen,” instead of just wanting it to happen, and complaining about it NOT happening…you’re going to have to become acquainted with “physical presence.” Having said that…you must know that “physical presence” must be frequent, intense, and non-violent. What is indispensable is that your “devotion to the cause” must be on-going…otherwise you’re just pissin’ in the wind.
Neurogenesis1:29
I know this sounds insulting…but…it should only effect those who truly feel inadequate to positive advancement of society. “One would be hard pressed to convince me that prohibs aren’t deficient in every stage of neuroplasticity…and…are resistant to positive brain evolution.”
BOYCOTT…BOYCOTT…BOYCOTT
Well! the answer of course is “BOYCOTT.” If you can’t be there or be square…then…don’t be there and don’t be square. You know…A “RATING” to a T.V. network is the very same thing as a “VOTE” to a politician. Maybe we should just pick a weekend, any weekend, and simply turn the T.V. off. We would have to let the world know what weekend that would be so that the networks would know it was us “OUR VOICE” instead of theirs that dropped them like a hot potatoe. I realize that this would be a hardship for people, to give up their addiction to the boob tube for even a few minutes…but…I’ll bet my left ???
…it would send a hard shock wave, and harder message…that the government propaganda machine can be taken out quite easily. By the way…we can also turn off our radios. It’s not such a high price to pay to express our demands to re-establish freedom. if you think about it…it’s almost government run T.V. anyway.
I’ve offered a few different ideas…but…we know BOYCOTTING WORKS. To not be there works as good as being there, as long as they know the difference.
“If you want it to “actually happen,” instead of just wanting it to happen, and complaining about it NOT happening…you’re going to have to become acquainted with “physical presence.” Having said that…you must know that “physical presence” must be frequent, intense, and non-violent. BINGO!!! NAIL ON THE HEAD!!! etc…
That’s the main problem with our “secrete society”!
No one want’s to stand toe to toe, on the front lines and let their voices be heard loud and clear…AS ADULT AMERICANS, WE ARE FED UP WITH OUR GOVERNMENT CHOOSING WHAT WE SHOULD/SHOULDN’T PUT INTO OUR OWN BODIES, WHICH VIOLATES OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT OF CHOICE AND PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS!!!
Have you guys ever heard of the term “soul winning”?
That’s what churches do to recruit more members. They actually go out and talk to people they have never met and invite them to come hear what their preacher has to say about their beliefs.
This has been a very effective tool for the church community, forever.
Well…that’s exactly what the cannabis community is going to have to do in order to have ANY real effect on the current status of marijuana in this country!
I still can’t believe that our plea to treat MJ like alcohol and tobacco hasn’t spread like a brush fire through this country but, I know the reason for this has everything to do with the lack of support from every MJ user in this country…PEOPLE!!! It is going to take ALL!!! of us to fight for this cause, instead of just a few thousand people who are willing to send an e-mail every so often.
We are going to have to wake our brother and sister smokers up from their skeptical way of thinking and enlighten them on the progress that has been made in 13 states (and counting) and the policy changes that NORML has been trying to push through for years now…people need to know this stuff, but the sad truth is that, more times than not, I get this question, “what’s NORML?”
This response only tells me one thing…people have not been informed near enough on the street level.
Not enough rallies, fliers, commercials, talk radio, positive news stories…ANYTHING that would get the truth out about one of Gods greatest creations, cannabis sativa!
Marijuana prohibition will ALWAYS be the norm if everyone just sits back and waits for our government to come to their senses all by them selves, but if EVERY closet smoker in America were to come out and demand a nation wide vote?…Um, well, can y’all say, LEGALIZATION?
Think about it (;
70 Jimbo
Everything we read in these posts refer to cannabis. This my friend is only the tip of the iceberg. We talk about losing our freedom to prohibitionists. What should piss us off enough to make us act is that we are losing all of our liberty, and our Constitution.
O.K…If one DOESN”T claim to be an American…sit down and shut the fuck up. If one DOES claim to be an American stand up and fight to “regain out liberty and Constitution.” If one is too fearfull to protect their
liberty…well!…they have nothing to fear but fear itself…and…they are doomed to cower in their own weakness. Look…”BE THERE OR BE SQUARE.”
If we want to see Freedom to Smoke in this country, come off the pocketbook. The nation is controlled by money. Our lack of Freedom is controlled by money. Legalization will happen if we can put enough money in it.Pot prohibition was started because of money. It will end over money. Donate Donate Donate. You will get it back in the long run because of less attorney fees and better product and lower prices on your medicine

I totally agree with both of you guys as you both make very fine points, but the reality here in the “deep south” AKA the “bible belt” is that their is an iron curtain to be dealt with that most parts of the country do not have to deal with in that our local governing bodies are combined by hard nosed law enforcement, the church, big business owners, bias local media and our governing politicians who will only listen to the for mentioned entities that we are surrounded by.
As for making donations, you have to realize that most of the cannabis loving people here are at or below the poverty level and as noble of a gesture it is to make these much needed donations, the majority of us just don’t have the means because the real money here is in the pockets of those big business owners I mentioned earlier.
What we really need here is a show of face and support, in the form of large crowds of people marching in the streets and getting out fliers on the street corners of places like Atlanta, Birmingham…etc. as well as starting movements in the smaller, but fairly large towns like Columbus GA, Montgomery AL…etc.
You guys must understand that, that’s the only way to get poor people to the polls and opening the eyes of our governing bodies.
What we really need, here in the “bible belt” is help in forming alliances with high ranking people from NORML, MPP, ASA…etc…etc…etc…to come down here and help us get a movement kick started through first dealing with these hard core bias media entities and secondly, analyzing our situation with those other for mentioned governing bodies and thirdly, helping people like myself in the re-education process that needs to take place so badly and fourthly, help us lobby for money and support for our allies. Until this happens, we are doomed!
I absolutely, wholeheartedly believe that “the bible belt” is not only the last frontier for canna legalization, but also holds the key to full all out legalization of marijuana in this country and the reason for that is because, if you can make it happen in this part of the world, with the kind of opposition “WE” are up against, you can see it through anywhere!
Sure, California was able to get it done! they are some of the most open minded people in the world, but if you can convince a “fundamental baptist” that our government has gotten it wrong, all these years?…well now…that would be impressive!
Do you cat’s see where I’m coming from? WE NEED HELP!!!

RE: Jimbo,
– I understand exactly what you’re saying.
I find it ridiculously-ironic, (and quite frustrating),
that so many of those professing to believe the
“Word of God” end up denying the veracity of the
very first chapter of the very first book of their bibles
when it comes to cannabis, (as well as many other forms
of God-Given plant-life having intense effects upon the
human-body), while embracing all sorts of humanly-made,
laboratory-devised compounds, far-removed from God’s
Creation / Nature that was, (SPECIFICALLY), made for us.
– The questionable pseudo-theological-excuses
for this denial / willful-ignorance of God’s clear and explicit
declaration-of-purpose for all plant-life, run the gamut from
“that only applied prior to the fall of Adam and Eve”,
and “mind-affecting plants are the ‘forbidden-tree’ “, to
“partaking of these, (strongly mind-affecting), plants” is a
“form of witchcraft”, (by interpretation and extrapolation of
the definition of a certain tetra-syllabic Greek word,
‘pharmakeia’, appearing in the New Testament).
– The latter reason given,
is AKIN TO ascribing all sex as ‘sinful’,
(including that which occurs within marriage),
and mandating celebacy.
– I believe all plants,
(even the reputedly highly-poisonous,
as well as more apparently-benign),
were “custom-made” by God for our utilization; that
the compounds contained within were meant and intended
to meet / fulfil SPECIFIC biochemical needs of the human body,
(Including proper functioning, structural building / repair,
modifying enzymatic / catalytic processes,
and fufilling energy requirements).
– Why would God create plants containing cannabinoids,
and also CORRESPONDING receptors within the human-body
for these compounds, within the endocannabinoid-system?
(BTW:
A certain amount of cannabinoids are
INTEGRAL to proper,
BALANCED functioning of the human-body!!!).
FYI:
– Our brains also contain a gland which secretes
‘hallucinogenic’ tryptamines, responsible for the ability to dream,
and conceptualize-visually, coincidentally, found in certain God-given plants,
custom-made for US!

73 Jimbo…….Preach your cermon sir!
This is my Bible! It is the word of my creator! I am who it says I am! I can do what it says I can do! God’s word leads me to where I am going! I will go there as a leader, or as a follower, the sheep herder, or the sheep! Jimbo…which way will you go?
I should not overlook the obvious. God has given me an endo-cannabinoid system…and…his gift of Manna to satisfy that system’s requirements. If man deprives us of that gift…man is interferring with God’s children, and God’s will for them…much the same as if man would deprive his felloe man his breath, his soul, his Faith, and his life.
Does this better make you feel armed with the word of God and his will. If so!…God bless you my brother.
RE: #76 Rebel,
Ephesians 6:10!!!
Genesis 1:29!!!
YEAH!!! 🙂
FOR GOD’S SAKE…LET’S NOT FORESAKE THE RELIGIOUS USE OF MANNA.
Who hasn’t used God’s name in their posts? To Genesists…those who honor and practice the Genesist Faith…cannabis is “Manna”…the Holy Sacrament for CDXX Communion. It’s a connection with the evidence of “L”. “L” is the original biblical term for God. God gave us “Manna.” In fact…God in his/her infinite wisdom…gave us “Manna” before he/she gave us…us! God created “Manna” in Genesis I:11,12. God gave us “Manna” in Genesis I:29,30,31. God reaffirmed his/her gift of “Manna” in Genesis IX:3. God also gave us an endo-cannabinoid system. Genesists believe that…if God didn’t want us to have and hold “Manna”…why did he/she give it to us. That’s not a question for the faithful. Genesists have belief and trust in our Faith. It’s a question for the faithless. Why?
Enough said…believe what you will…but…believe that Genesists will have and hold their belief system at all costs. The Religious Freedom Restoration Act, and the United States Constitution will prevail against all odds.

( 11-Apr-1906 ~~ 29-Apr-2008 ):
“- I think that the possibility to have psychedelic experience is inborn.

We speak about the paradise of childhood.
When I had this vision and beautiful experience as a child, this is no wonder, because we have these compounds already in our brain.

Hi Jimbo,
I’ve gone to my legislators, in person, and handed them pages I printed out from the website: http://ChristiansAgainstProhibition.org/
You asked for a flyer, I was in the process of making a graphic but realized it could/should be a flyer, so I put it online. There’s a story behind it, but I won’t type it up here. It’s still pre-version-1, but useable to cover the basic points. I’ve recently posted some other hard-hitting essays; shaking the fence so hard there shouldn’t be many fence sitters if they read them.
For various technical reasons I won’t go into here, in order to access the “Printer-friendly version” link for any page, you must sign in. Since you have taken the time to register, when you visit and sign in, you will see that link at the bottom of each page. (If you forgot your password, on the sign in page you will see a link to have a new one emailed to you immediately.)
At some point I will fancify the print out somewhat, but for now it prints the headline and the body, no fuss no muss. No wasted ink.
The only downer for you potentially is I haven’t written much specific to marijuana, it’s mostly anti drug war in general. But I have a new essay in the “Despise the Shame” series I hope to publish soon that will focus on cannabis. However, any of the anti drug war essays can be used as a lead-in to talk about the need for ending marijuana prohibition.
In the mean time, you are welcome to add comments to any pages leaving suggestions for improvement!
The only other downer is some very hateful and angry drug warriors or cartel members have discovered the site and have been attacking it daily! Thus making it really slow or even inaccessible! Grrr!
Hey NeuroG — that’ll be my rap name for you 🙂 @ 73
I too have heard those arguments. I’ve debated them elsewhere, so haven’t added them yet to the place I’ve set aside to dissect them. Mainly I’ve been trying to clear other hurdles.
As we all know, those are religious arguments and have no place in our government’s laws! Even as an attack against others, outside of government’s laws, they are flawed.
Like you point out and link to, these laws are an immoral, illegal, unconstitutional, and un-Biblical religion of hate against plants God gave us.
And it also says God reaps where he did not sow! [Matthew 25:14-29]
So even if God didn’t make those plants — an argument I patently reject — we know that God still reaps where he did not sow and makes it his own, giving it to people who love him.
Those people are flat wrong! Borrowing another line from the Messiah as he told off the religious leaders of his time: they don’t know either the scriptures or the power of God!
