That’s fine with me . I really wish you the best . I hope they’re standing in line waitiing to advertise on your fine site because for the work you’ve done toward legitimizing the legalization of Marijuana, N.O.R.M.L. deserve it .
Just a suggestion though: I’d stop with the ” Womens Alliance ” stuff because that’s prejudicialy sexist and your going to end up with more people who aren’t interested rather than interested in advertising with N.O.R.M.L.
In other words they’ll walk .
[Editor’s note: Recognizing women is sexist? Shouldn’t ‘public’ interests groups work for the public interest, including women? NORML is working with High Times on a Senior Alliance, to have a ‘silver tour’ that reaches out to seniors. Is this age discrimination? If there is a coalition in future that reaches out to minorities to get more involved in reform efforts, would this be racist?
One thing is for sure, cannabis will never become legal in America because a bunch of white guys who smoke ganja or use it for medicine want it to be so.
The coalition to reform cannabis laws must be necessarily diverse to end 74-years of Prohibition.]
Let all flowers bloom!]
I think it is time for some people to dig into some “conspiracy theories” about the drug war, you know whats funny? they make more fucking sense than cannabis prohibition… way more fucking sense.
I think this is a great idea! Not only will it help raise money for the NORML foundation, but it will also help other pro-Cannabis entrepreneurs at the same time.
NORML: Have you ever considered advertising NORML.org and/or NORML’s Facebook Fan Page via Facebook’s Ad Platform? I have seen many ads/campaigns being run on Facebook that are pro-Cannabis and it seems there is no way these campaigns would/could flop. It is just too easy to target a certain audience when you are dealing with Facebook Ads. If this is within your wishes and budget, hopefully you will take it into consideration for the future!
Good luck NORML, and as always, keep up the good work! 🙂
[Editor’s note: Thanks for the suggestion and on a limited basis NORML has experimented with FB advertising…and with benefit.]
President Obama on Thursday called drug legalization “an entirely legitimate topic for debate,” but quickly added “I am not in favor of legalization.” my response is simply, Put Up or Shut Up Mr. President! The debate you claim is “an entirely legitimate topic for debate,” is long over due. We the People have been a……sking this Government to give us this debate and debate this issue like reasonable human beings. The government’s response has “shocked the sense of fair play,” they have openly lied and mis-informed the general public for since 1937. Mr. President we want this debate! We dare you to set this in motion and since you clearly stated, “not in favor of legalization”, you and your party should put up or shut up and defend Prohibition. We the People will bring it on, set the ground, we’ll debate who ever you send. All we ask is that it be live and transparent to the public.
Direct from the White House Facebook. I guess Russ doesn’t like my posting on THEIR SITE. He wrote the following to me; from Russ Wilkinson: “Get off your a$$, start writing your congressmen and get the people who would actually craft and present the law to do their jobs. Complaining on a page that only the WH interns read as part of their hazing and making it sound like some po…mpous appeal to the president does nothing.
Anthony, put up or shut up.” Nice guy, just like the rest in government, don’t care about the people. Please send the White House a thank you for caring email, let Russ know how you all feel abbout the wonderful justice that is given US Citizens. This is your government at work for you and I, ya right.

I too feel your frustration. Never in my life have I felt so oppressed by our elected officials. You have previously made some very good points in these comment sections. However, just like myself and many others here have done before, you are letting your frustration obscure your thoughts.
Despite the tremendous variety in ideas and opinions of how BEST to pursue our common goal, we must avoid “in-fighting” and accusatory tones that undermine our ultimate vision of ending prohibition. In other words, many of us, myself included, might benefit from taking a day or two to avoid dealing with this important issue, chill out, relax, and come back with a renewed vision and understanding of our changing political battle. Then, if you choose to continue writing the White House, so be it. That is YOUR vision of how BEST to pursue legalization. Just do what you do man!
Ultimately we ARE winning. We must continue to cooperate. We must support each other. We must relentlessly push forward.

Then sue the pants off them when they trample your constitutional rights while trying to enforce their non-constitutional drug policy.
The only way to pass grass roots legislation today is lobby, on your dollar, or sue them in court and have them run the risk of losing their dollar if they loose. Red state or Blue state, the BIGGER elephant in the romm at the moment is not spending MORE tax dollars on frivilous ideas. The drug war is a frivilous idea and also at this moment, nationwide, your Constitutional rights are not.
Fight fire, with fire, it’s the American way.
Okay…So now I’ve watched countless documentaries…listened to users…from all walks of life, in addition…Judges, former dea officers, and officers against prohibition…(used)…and the most disturbing conclusion that I’ve come to is that…that marijuana being illegal makes no sense, (in regards to the benefits to society and the fact that people are not going to stop using…let’s do the math…antiquity…(Prohibition 1937 – 2011… 64 years over half a century)(1970’s -2011 at least 40 years) and now I’m almost certain of 1 or 3 things either our public officials are insane, making money from prohibition or must be under some kind of life threat from industry or drug cartels…because the arrest from marijuana use makes no sense…the refusal to consider hemp uses makes no sense…the contiuation of tearing down trees makes no sense…with the economic debt we have and refusal to get these tax dollars makes no sense…but the growing private sector investment in the prison system and benefits that are being gained from free labor or most disturbing…they seem to be in the same bed that took jobs out of the country in pursuit of cheap labor…the increase of peoples of the world protesting regarding no jobs and high cost for goods and services and being that the worlds most pressing problems is coporate greed…what will they begin doing to imprison citizens next to get free labor and more money?
(Addition) Sorry was on the wrong page. (Buy from and encourage friends and family to buy from any business that advertizes on NORML. (Also I still think we need to Rally across the nation to show our numbers on the same day at the same time…many people or afraid to express their opinion to the congressmen and women because to the legalities and distrust of government.
I would like to advertise this piece of literature from a leading law enforcement website. http://www.policeone.com/rural-law-enforcement/articles/2717431-5-fundamentals-for-fighting-medical-marijuana/
Nevermind, Nevermind. I thought is was $37.50 a week not a day.
the border patrol is more interested in confiscating medical marijuana from people with medical cards. even with a card you will get fined and your medicine taken away. they gloat as they hurt people. they pay little attention for guns or illegal money. everyone knows that in NM medical pot is expensive and rare. it drove street prices up. border patrol persons are sadistic psychopaths born of the gene pool as any terrorist. so Obama stating a hand off policy to legitimate cannabis users is definitely a lie….yes Obama Lies. first step in cutting down on health care costs involves growing one’s own medicine.
