“Delaware’s first weekend of adult-use cannabis sales has shown that our state is ready — and eager — for a well-regulated, responsible market,” Democratic Gov. Matt Meyer said.
Nearly 90 percent of US adults believe that cannabis should be legal for either medical or adult-use purposes.
Regulators had anticipated launching adult-use sales in early 2025, but the rollout faced numerous delays.

Unlike alcohol (which is readily available in a variety of potencies, including highly-potent formulations like grain alcohol and absinthe), THC is incapable of causing lethal overdose — regardless of its potency or the quantity consumed.
“Minnesotans already pay a premium tax on retail cannabis products. Raising these taxes even higher will undoubtedly drive prices out of reach for some consumers. This will push consumers back to the unregulated market, thereby undermining the primary goal of legalization.”
