Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker recently announced that her office will stop prosecuting most marijuana possession cases. Earlier this year St. Louis City Prosecuting Attorney, Kim Gardner, took similar action on simple possession cases of up to 100 grams.
Voters this November have the opportunity to make Missouri the 32nd state to allow for the physician-recommended use of marijuana, and based on the latest polling data, they will likely do so. Therefore, the important question before voters is no longer if the Show-Me State should legalize medical cannabis access, but how Missouri will do so. Vote YES on 2.

The Missouri Secretary of State’s Office has approved the New Approach Missouri Medical Marijuana Initiative for the November 6, 2018 ballot! New Approach Missouri is closely allied with Missouri NORML and other active NORML Chapters across Missouri whose members were instrumental in gathering the signatures to place this measure before the voters.
State regulators today certified a voter-initiated medical cannabis access measure for the 2018 ballot. Officials announced that proponents gathered nearly 154,000 validated initiative signatures from registered voters — far exceeding the total necessary to place the measure before a statewide vote.
Proponents of a proposed 2018 medicalization initiative have gathered an estimated 160,000 signatures and appear poised to place the measure on the November ballot. Some 77 percent of Utahns either “strongly” or “somewhat” favor the plan.
Proponents of a Missouri voter initiative effort to legalize and regulate the therapeutic use and distribution of cannabis statewide have surpassed over 200,000 signatures. Advocates must collect a total of 160,000 qualified signatures in six of Missouri’s eight congressional districts by May 6, 2018 in order to qualify the measure for the 2018 electoral ballot.
