Lawmakers have advanced several marijuana-related bills — including legislation to legalize the adult use market — out of their chambers of origin.

According to statewide polling compiled last year, 72 percent of residents support the “legalization of marijuana for recreational use.”
Prohibiting adults from accessing these products from state-licensed retailers will not eliminate consumers’ demand for them. Rather, it will encourage consumers to seek out higher-THC products in the unregulated market.
State regulations governing the alcohol market permit adults the option to legally brew non-commercial quantities of their own alcohol, and it is consistent with this policy to similarly permit home cultivation.
Adults may purchase up to 2.5 ounces of cannabis flowers and/or up to one-quarter of an ounce of concentrates from licensed retailers beginning January 1st.
