Author, Harvard academician, NORML Advisory Board member and respected physician, Lester Grinspoon, recently updated his webpage and is seeking cannabis consumers to contribute essays to his newly launched blog devoted to furthering understanding and appreciation of the way in which cannabis enhances a variety of human experiences.
An awesome essay submitted to Dr. Grinspoon’s definitively written Marihuana Reconsidered by a mysterious Mr. X originally inspired this ‘Uses’ project, later to be revealed as the late, great Dr. Carl Sagan.
Dr. Grinspoon is looking for material for a new book examining the myriad and compelling reasons why so many people use cannabis.
Essays can be anonymously submitted…or not.
The ‘Uses’ webpage is companion to Dr. Grinspoon’s comprehensive medical cannabis-related webpage: www.rxmarijuana.com

one of the many reasons i use marjiuana…it helps me play baseball better. i swear. anyone else try it?
Thas Whats Upp…
Dr. Grinspoon’s “Marijuana Uses” is probably the greatest little-known site on the web. I believe no other site goes on the offensive for marijuana reform as well. That is, instead of defending against the incessant charges of marijuana’s “harms,” its expressive contributors spell out in vivid detail what’s GOOD about marijuana – not medicinally, but recreationally – even spiritually.
I’m a little curious about describing it as a “newly launched blog,” though. I have been referring and linking to it for years – before the term “blog” even appeared on the scene. What’s up with that?
I have been smoking marijuana for over 45 years. I started at the age of 15 years and I am now just turned 60. I am an activist actively propagating the virtues of this wonderful herb…not simply for recreational useage but for spiritual passage and medicinal purposes.
I have had a lot of experience with psychedelic substances from the 60’s up to the present day and I now consider marijuana to be a “leveller” in my psychological makeup.
I use marijuana as a nice cap to a hard day’s work. Whereas many people turn to a drink, dessert, or television, I enjoy a puff and a hobbie. I often use it to make music from a more subconscious level, I find my guitar playing is more from the heart than head when I’m stoned. Furthermore, I use it when i’m over stressed, it allows a moment to think and a means to shut down the unmanageable overdrive that the brain can so often go into.
far out!! yall know it take we the people to relegalizge it..
so far… let do it…
Thanks for the link, I have submitted an essay about why I use marijuana. I hope it enlightens someone out there.
What’s up with me not ever hearing about his site before? I guess better late than never. It’s an amazing source though and such a refreshing change from all the controversy I read about surrounding something so benign and innocent.
Bookmarked.
For relief of chronic,sleep-denying cervical and lumbar spine, left knee pain caused by motor vehicle accidents and degenerative changes,(alternativly w/ Tyelenol and Hydrocodone);to get inside music and my guitar;to aid in personal and spiritual growth and understanding;for a laugh.
I’ve seen Dr. Lester Grinspoon from “Penn and Teller: Bullshit!” -He does a great job as an expert to talk about marijuana and it’s benefits. I am in college and recently I was busted by a campus officer for possession of marijuana. I had to talk to the school about the offense and they made me pay a fine and write a paper on my view of marijuana… they expected it to be a 1/2 piece of crap… I made it eight pages with a page and a half of sources. The school was blown aawy. I’m thinking about submitting the paper to Dr. Grinspoon to read.
Keeps me sane
I use dank buds strictly for personal inside feeling, i don’t need it but when i smoke it my sense are enhanced, i am relaxed, and i think it helps with deppression. It has different effects on everyone, its not grown for everyone
Im a three sport athlete and i have numerous sports related injuries. Im in pain most days of the week whether its my ankle or my back and the only thing that honestly helps me deal with the pain is smoking sweet ganja.
It is the only thing available that calms my stomach and alleviates my other physical and mental suffering.
It is best when consumed via a vaporizer and less harmful then hot gas from any smoking source.
I smoke weed because I enjoy humor. Everything is funny to me and life is just more enjoyable. It heightens my senses and makes me look at things in a new and different way. It just makes my life better in every possible way.
I use marijuana almost daily. It’s a heavenly stress reliever; after a long day of classes, studying, working out and maintaining social relationships, it feels amazing to just light up, relax, and listen to some music. The main reason I use it though is because it allows me to think outside “the box.” I love to get an energetic high and watch lectures on TED.com, they’re some of the brightest, most enlightening lectures ever given, and they’re free. I also like to watch the Discovery channel and National Geographic channel also, very informative. I’ve also thought of a few inventions and in my mind, brilliant ideas and theories while “under the influence” of marijuana. Marijuana is a miracle plant with over 50,000 uses besides it’s medicinal ones and I am a loyal fan.
The wonder drug, with the power to bring forth peace but not at the hands of the corrupt rich pompous douche bags running this country and feeding the CEO ass clowns just making it worst, damn.
Hello, I use marijuana as my natural pain reliever from my muscle spasiums that i suffer from with my MS illness. Also for my mental conditions of anxiety and panic disorders along with acute depression and bypolar, and i also have a spinal disease. I used to take alot of pharmacuticle drugs which kept me bed ridden for more than 8 years until i found blood test showned signes of liver damages, which these drugs were eating away until i found cannabis.
I am 53 years of age, and was making good income before i became ill, but this plant has helped me overcome alot of challenges in my life when it comes to many issues.
I have always been against drugs of any kind before i met my husband 20 years ago, and spoke against any kind of use of mind altering drugs, pharmacuticle or others, but when i became sick, it changed my mind on the use of cannabis through educational tools, online information medically and group meetings that i now attend. The laws allow the use of cannabis, but they are not abided by for agenda’s of their own opions, not the laws. Which is sad. For now i am a criminal, even though i follow the laws of the state all due to the fact i benifit from cannabis in many ways under the recomendation from my doctors and the laws of our state.
I wouldn’t be surprised if depression is in the top reasons why.
i smoke daily i have alot of anger issues i try to stay calm but i explode quickly with rage i smoke and i stay calm to be honest i do like the mellowing affect i also have a liver problem and some days the pain in my stomach is unbearable and it is hard just to eat i have smoked foryears i hold down a job i am not a burden on the system i just think you should be able to live your life withought some one telling you what you are doing is wrong if my smoking pot helps me with my issues and it is not hurting anybody i should be left alone!! i would love to talk with the doctor please feel free to contact me i have things to say that i dare not type
To help me relax, to soothe anxiety and to releave me from abuse of alcohol.
Sometime you just wanna feel good and not have to worry about the pressure of society.
Feel its medicinal in its thought provoking change which can have a positive impact on my life, as long as its not used more than once every couple of weeks, or in other words abused.
I manage to control my usage because of the social environment i choose to live in.
I smoke occasionally. Like most teenagers, I started because “everyone else was doing it”. But it has become much more than just a party drug. I respect it for the spiritual and healing aspects it has done for me. So many privileged Americans have a hard time thinking outside their little box, and marijuana has helped me with stepping out of that paradox. For a while I had stressed induced eczema and migraines, but after smoking for a while, these symptoms eventually went away, without effecting my day to day functions.
Now, it is more used as a substitute for beer, or a glass of wine. An after dinner relaxer while watching a movie, or making something with my hands.
I use Marijuana like I use wheat. There is noting wrong with the use of this valuable plant!
I smoked a fatty before I did a half marathon. Just floated along…
I have smoked weed since I was 13 years old and I am now 53 years old. I am a very hyper person and I smoke weed to calm me down. I concentrate so much better when I smoke. I have three adult children and I have always told them I would rather them smoke weed then drink alcohol. Keep up the good work.
cALIFORNIA.
My names Andrew IM a med patient..I have smoke marijuana since 10th grade of highschool im in my 2nd year of college now, I smoke both medically and recreationally, Medically for my migraines which is amazing because 2-3 puffs will take away my migraines…but also recreationaly to relax I also feel Its the best Anti Depressant known to man….from 10th grade on my grades got better I was always more postive and thought so deep into things. Yea I get theres some people taht cant function with pot in there but pleasse there are many of us.. who cant survive without it
I could say many things about the positive effects of marijuana but many, if not most, have already been said by others here; so I will just concur and add that beyond the clear and true medical benifits…I just plain old like it. Is that so wrong to say? It has been an important part of my life for 35 years now and I wish it was not in the shadows of life. It is natural, beneficial, and enjoyable. And with minimal negative qualities…so what’s the problem…of yea, politicians!
I suffer from severe depression. And I take medications for this prescribed from my doctor. When I don’t use marijuana, I fall into a deeper abyss of depression. I believe the meds are slowly eating away at my spirit and my body. The meds reactions are scary. One day feeling fine the next day, I don’t won’t to get out of bed. When I discuss this with my doctors I get the sixty’s lecture. They are in the business for pushing medications on people. One doctor will not see me due to “my own treatment”. I feel 100% better after using marijuana. For me it works, I can’t say it will work for everybody, but it works for me to relieve the depression that I go through every day. Thank you for your time.
marijuana helps me deal with stress, depression and helps me get threw rough days BUT it also makes everything more fun and enjoyable. such as a movie, when im sober a movie is just a movie, but when im under the influence of marijuana it makes it an adventure, a quest, it feels like your right their in the movie with the actors. Also it brings ALOT of people together. i meet over 75% of my friends threw marijuana. marijuana can also be to relax and just kick back and chill. its always something to do whens theirs nothing to do. it also excellent for food, it makes it 100% better and more enjoyable. marijuana can also give u more confidence when around that “special someone”. and the best thing about marijuana is that it is NATURAL!!! its not hand made like REAL drugs. (powder, pills, needles) marijuana is just as safe or if not SAFER then drinking a beer. How many people die a year for being under the influence of alcohol? TOO MANY..How many people die a year due to marijuana use? NONE! you cannot OVERDOSE on marijuana. i can go on and on and on with why marijuana is good for you and SHOULD be legal!
I smoke for spiritual religious reasons.
Also, anyone see the new Rasmussen poll?
40% for legalization/48% against legalization
YES WE CANNABIS
I started smoking in 1970, I knew if I could get it I would smoke Marijuana for the rest of My Life. Has anyone out there EVER seen A Pot smoker get in a altercation with anyone? I am now 63yrs old and still going strong.I believe God gave us this plant to ease pain and give us Creativity and Laughter.
1. I use it because I enjoy smoking cannabis. I don’t enjoy getting drunk. I only get drunk because i can’t always get/afford herb.
2. I have tinnitus (ringing in ears) that is some days unbearable; I’ve found that when I take a huge hit of cannabis that makes me cough, I can ‘hear’ the tinnitus get greatly reduced, on a scale of 1-10, goes from a 7 to a 1 til i can barely ‘hear’ it.
3. I’m trying to lose weight and cannabis has no calories, while beer has many.
#20 Ray Coon, I also have anger management issues (stupid people really enrage me) but I’ve found when I’m high, instead of getting angry and yelling, I joke about people’s stupidity instead of yelling at them until my face is red.
It’s not a war on (some) drugs, it’s a war on minorities: tinyurl.com/1mn and tinyurl.com/potconviction and if you can afford it, order a copy of ‘the marijuana confiction’ from half.com.
I am sixty one years old and I have been toking for over forty one years, except for a period of several years when I was subject to random urinalysis. To me, it’s a life saver and now that Michigan has a medical pot law I can finally have my medicine unadulterated from who knows what. I use it for pain management and to even out my mood because I am and always have been, a very high-strung person. Thank God for His gift of cannabis! It truly is a gift from God! It even says so in Genesis!I have always been a supporter of human rights and the right to use Cannabis should be an undeniable right!
I smoke occassionally – it simply makes me smile and appreciate another point of view bit better. My husband on the other hand smokes daily to battle the nausea of Crohns Disease and the chronic pain. It is for him I want it legal. There is no difference from a nice glass of red wine in my opinion. Let us know how we can help.
Dear Mr. Grinspoon,
Thank you for giving me the chance to make this comment. I’ve lived with Bi-depression and Fibromyalgia for as long as I can remember, even as a little girl.
Living with pain was what I thought everyone did. I have taken more Rx’s then I want to even mention. Of course Suicide was never far from my mind.
I was so sick and tired of pain that I decided to try Marijuana. Well now I have been smoking medical Marijuana for 5yrs now. I’ve gotten married and I have a life! My kids like me now…I like me now. I don’t have the words to express how wonderful Marijuana has made my life. Thank you to all the people that are working so hard to make mine and so many others lives happier/healthier lives.
Thank you with all my heart,
Starlene
Although I hate to admit it, my day job has turned me into an asshole due to the overwhelming buildup of stress.
When I get home from a long hard day at work, I light up and my attitude is totally changed for the better. I see everything in a different light and because of that, I take a more sensible approach to solving whatever problems I encounter in life. I’m at ease and that helps me to stay calm, relax and think about things. I love that feeling. I love that it helps me to feel like I’m in control.
Hello Dr. Grinspoon, my name is Paul Hunt, president of the Green Cross Society of BC in Vancouver. We are the disabled helping the disabled with a membership of over 4,000 and growing.
There are too many efficacy’s to mention as I see miracles to each and everyone of our members.
Myself, I was released from the hospital recovering from a moderately severe head trauma in 1997. Upon dismisal I was prescribed 200 mg. Zoloft daily with Ativan as a chaser leaving me near brain dead.
With the use of cannabis, I slowly weaned myself off the synthetics, my vocabulary and my gate corrected themselves shorty after. Well, her I am today helping others recover from their ailments using natural plant remedies. HIV, Hep C, chronic pain, cancer, arthritis are just a few it helps with.
Such a beautiful, wonderful plant that God created thats never killed anyone. It’s such a shame our Governments are ruled by the all mighty dollar and not the people. No wonder why it’s illegal
I started smoking in 1971 when I turned 21. I found out that I am allergic to fermented (mold)products and I never liked the taste of alcohol. I have had Fibromyalgia since I was a young adult. Also, was diagnosed with arthritis in my jaw after a car accident, I bit the steering wheel. Luckily, I was rushed to an oral surgeon and he was able to reattach my front teeth. After that accident I learned that the pot I was smoking was also a pain reliever.
Since 1974 I have smoked pot daily, earned a college degree, worked, studied Graphoanalysis. I never had kids because I didn’t want to set a bad example by using an illegal substance.
I will turn 60 in September. I still smoke for pain relief, but I also take some pain medicines. If I were able to purchase a better quality of pot, I might be able to take even less than I already take.
I suffer from paranoid psychosis and manipulative depression and marijuana along with my prescribed meds is the only way i keep myself in check. Im a strong believer of the miracle plant and am also a heavy user. I am confident in my belief that without marijuana I would not be able to get by in my everyday life. This is an honest appinion from a concerned marijuana activist, “keep smoking, never stop, and peace will be about the world”
thank you for any one taking the time to read this.
I tried cannabis when i waws 16 ,this first time i did to much trying to keep up with the big dogs, i never did care for it at all at first.
when i was young i drank like a fish and popped epheedrine pills like candy, until i was introduced to crank in 1988 man i loved this stuff, anywho after ravishing my body to a point where people thought i had everything from aids to cancer in 1994 istarted slowing down ,and i read an article in a paper about marijuana as well as an insert from the NORML foundation,so i used cannabis to eat and gain weight.
guess what it worked.
no withdrawl, i know this beacause i take NORCO 10/325 and when i run out early its tragedy.
i have a frien on oxycontin 60mg tabs and when he runs out he goes through the same ordeal.
marijuana never leaves wanting or needing it in its abscence.
to quote richard cowan marijuana prohibition is a failure and counterproductive fraud.
kudos to your blog.
p.s keep the BC 3 in canada

I smoke pot because i have horrid panic attacks to where i feel like im having a heart attack..Pot seems to work the best for me..I tryed Zoloft and a bunch of other crazy pills and none worked better then the great herb! Thank you God for this amazing herb and God Bless everyone who knows the TRUTH behind herb!
I use marijuana both for relief and for enhancement. I have chronic back pain which i have found no better relief for than marijuana. If i have any type of pain or trouble sleeping i choose marijuana over prescription drugs. I just don’t feel safe taking pills. I also use it to make an experience better. something such as a hike, or an afternoon at the met can be so much more enjoyable with a little herb. This plant was not put on our planet to be ignored. we are wasting the most important resource we have with our ridiculous prohibition. A law that the people do not want enforced cannot be enforced and should not be a law.

>>>”I never had kids because I didn’t want to set a bad example by using an illegal substance.”
Wow. That is terribly sad. I’m glad most consumers didn’t buckle in that way. That’s just what many of the bigoted prohibitionists would love to hear.
I have always been honest with my children. They appreciated it, and are better people because of it. Those who blindly follow arbitrary laws are going through life handicapped. One of the benefits of being a marijuana reformer is it removes the blinders the government/media/corporations work to put on the us. We know these power centers are not there for the benefit of the people.
The counter-productive fraud of marijuana prohibition is one of the great tools of the oppression of a free-thinking people.
But the chain of lies is breaking. The truth will set us free.
BTW, Kudos to Neal Peirce! This is what will finally break the back of the American Inquisition, aka marijuana prohibition. A cold look at the facts.
Please keep in mind, marijuana sales are 85 percent of the “illegal” drug market. It’s a simple matter of focusing on ending thos counter-productive fraud persecuting millions of innocent Americans.
Sorry. I was referring to this terrific column by Niel Pierce in the Denver Post:

Obama’s take on the drug war
Fissures are suddenly forming along the edges of the giant iceberg of America’s multibillion-dollar “war” on drug use, first formally proclaimed by President Richard Nixon in 1971.
But so much depends on what President Barack Obama decides to do with the issue.
This month a Latin American commission headed by former Presidents Fernando Henrique Cardoso of Brazil, Ernesto Zedillo of Mexico and Cesar Gaviria of Colombia condemned harsh U.S. drug prohibition policies that are based, in Gaviria’s words, “on prejudices and fears and not on results.”
Fueled by Americans’ drug appetite and dollars, drug-gang violence is engulfing Mexico, threatening the very stability of the state with massive corruption and close to 6,000 killings last year.
Brazil is afflicted with daily gun battles between police and gangs in urban slums. And despite years of intensive U.S.-backed efforts to eradicate Colombia’s cocaine exports, official reports show they’ve risen 15 percent in this decade. A high proportion are smuggled into the U.S.
The drug war, the former presidents charge, is imperiling Latin America’s democratic institutions and corrupting “judicial systems, governments, the political system and especially the police forces.”
As both the world’s largest drug consumer market and the lead voice in setting global drug policy, the United States, the Latin leaders argue, has huge responsibility now to “break the taboo” that’s suffocated open debate about the wisdom of a clearly failed 38-year “war.”
The leaders are placing hopes in Obama, who as a candidate said the “war on drugs is an utter failure” and talked favorably about more public health-based approaches.
Given that history, and given this president’s openness to hearing diverse points of view, it’s hard to believe he’ll maintain the stony wall of indifference to drug policy reform that all his predecessors since Nixon have maintained.
Still, there are crucial issues of politics and timing. One can just imagine White House advisers telling Obama to steer clear of the drug issue, that it could be as perilous and distracting as gays in the military were for President Bill Clinton in his first year in office.
Against that background, the Latin leaders’ statement itself may help move the compass. Ethan Nadelmann, executive director of the Drug Policy Alliance, calls their manifesto (www.drugsanddemocracy.org) “a major leap forward in the global drug policy debate.” One reason: these are conservative, highly respected leaders.
Gaviria, as president of Colombia in the early ’90s, for example, worked with U.S. anti-narcotics agents to hunt down and kill Pablo Escobar, the cocaine kingpin.
But Gaviria and his fellow former presidents, along with Latin mayors, writers and other respected leaders joining in their declaration, say it’s time to recognize that force and prohibition have failed to stop dangerous narco-trafficking.
It’s high time, they propose, to focus on harm reduction and prevention efforts — following European models to change the status of addicts from drug buyers in an illegal system to that of patients cared for in a public health system. They also suggest considering decriminalizing possession of marijuana for personal use — a step Obama recently indicated he’s not ready to take.
And they say they’ll be watching how the U.S. handles the meeting of a key United Nations-sponsored Commission on Narcotic Drugs which convenes in Vienna next month. The commission is to review the prevailing, harsh, U.S.-molded drug policies the U.N. General Assembly set in 1998. But there’s the question: Will Obama (and Hillary Clinton’s State Department) send reformers, or just bureaucrats who’ve soldiered in our blind-alley war on drugs? Drug reformers were disappointed when Obama recently passed over public health advocates to appoint a police chief — Gil Kerlikowske of Seattle — as the country’s new drug czar (director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy).
But Kerlikowske does appear to have worked harmoniously with Seattle’s cutting edge of drug reforms — well-established needle exchange programs, marijuana arrests declared the lowest law enforcement priority through public initiative, and a local bar association that’s a national model in finding alternatives to drug prohibition laws.
So there are gleams of hope at the end of a long tunnel. And what better time than this wrenching recession to shift law enforcement to legitimately serious crimes, starting to discharge the hundreds of nonviolent drug offenders held in our bulging, cost-heavy jails and prisons?
Predictably, any shift will be tough. Many law enforcement agencies count on the jobs — and seizures of cash — that the drug “war” delivers. Our “prison-industrial complex,” guard unions included, remains potent. And federal law actually prohibits the drug czar from recommending legalization of any proscribed drug, no matter what his personal judgment may be.
We have dug ourselves a deep hole. Only forthright and courageous leadership is likely to start us on a saner path. Can this be “the time?” Please, Mr. President.
It makes everything more fun.
Helps you think more in depth into things.
Helps with any pain, headaches and such.
It makes everything taste better
there are so many reasons.
I smoke pot because I enjoy the effects. I’m not addicted, I’ve gone months without taking a single hit, and I smoke either when I’m stressed out or when I’m bored (which is a terible excuse). When I smoke, I get creative ideas for my songs and poetry, and I use that to my advantage.
Mary J…… What a wonderful herb. Why do i smoke marijuana? Whenever i want to be in peace. I have always been a hyper active kid since i can remember. In top of being a hyper child once graduating high school and facing the real world i was faced with many challenges and began a stressful life. Lucky i became good friend with a co worker which, he introduced me to my one and only love ,Mary J. lol. Smoking marijuana helps me relax and be in peace with myself. It takes all my worries and turns them into joy. I also use marijuana before watching a comedy movie, before going to a club, before eating, i honestly just smoke pot for everything, it just makes everything better, oh man and lets not forget smoking before having sex.
The reason i use Mary Jane is 2 fold 1st is for the severe migraines i have but secondly it helps me relax. in 1986 i had a brain tumor the size of a baseball removed from my head and since then i find it very hard to relax due to the severity and amount of headaches i have from this. The doctors at the VA hospital prescribe anti psychotics for migraine prevention, and will not prescribe pain medications,(ie vicodine, percodan or such)the Marijuana takes only 1-2 puffs and there ya go i no longer vomit from the headaches and no longer have the rage sensation from my brain exploding with every heartbeat. and the pain goes away to and in a half an hour im a sleep in bed.
Anger management is a good reason to smoke also people should be very cautious with the street cannabis since street dealers add junk to it causing terrible side effects, cannabis alone has no withdrawals.
Also after my last motorcycle accident it reduces the pain along my spine. A cannabis crop could provide the economy with a huge boost since you can use it to make all kinds of products.
And last before I smoked cannabis at the age of 21 I could not learn math no matter how hard I tried but cannabis gave me the ability to focus and concentrate like never before I learned my Algebra, Trigonometry, and Precalculus.
I believe that people who say cannabis is poison are speaking out of ignorance and misinformation.
I say for the good of our society and to end all these drug related homicides, we have to decriminalize cannabis and tax it heavily so that our federal government can see some real profits and benefits.
Just about everywhere you look around the world the war on drugs is wreaking havoc, and innocent people are dying. John Thomas has made very good arguments thank you to everyone here that is making intelligent and sensible contributions.
Well i’ve been smoking cannabis for over a year and a half. Im still in high school and the reason i smoke is because after a long day of hard work when ive finish my homework or i dont ahve anything better to do i just light my self a joint smoke it drink some water and relax watcha movie which can always be entretaining. It relaeases myself from daily stress and calms me, another benefit is that it makes sleeping more easy. People sometimes say that marihuana can slow you down or it’s an impediment to do homewrok but for mypersonal experience ther’s nothing better than to smoke a joint read a book or a poem reflect upon it and then write a magnifisent essay about it. Impressively most of the poeple who are now my friend said to me tht 2 years ago i was a very agressive person, basically i was a dick head marihuana has amde more more friendly my grades have improved and now i coexist with my sourroundings better
Dr. Grinspoon:
I have smoked Cannabis since 1968. That’s 40 years. I have enjoyed it greatly. It gives me a sense of well being and inner peace. It allows me to concentrate on tasks such as writing and photography, or scholarly research, or washing the dishes. Should one of life’s hassles occur, I am able to focus on it and take whatever action I need to take.
Marijuana also helps keep my arthritis in check. While I usually have some pain and stiffness, I am able to hold down a physical labor job every day. I am very rarely ever late and I perform my tasks every day. I leave work tired, sore and satisfied that I did my best at my job.
Nor do I usually go home and laze around. Being an activist I need to keep up on current events. Being a writer, I need to put words on screen. Not that 56 is over the hill, but I doubt I could run 18 hour days without the world’s most versatile plant as my partner.
By the way, that’s 18 hours a day, frequently including Saturdays and Sundays. Amotivation? I don’t believe you’ll find that here.
Neal Smith
I’ve been smoking pot on a DAILY BASIS since 1967, almost 42 years! It’s efficacious for a myriad of things, be they mental, physical, or spiritual. Medically, it helps me with Diabetic Neuropathy, a side-effect of having Type 1, Insulin-Dependent Diabetes since 1969. It also helps Chronic Depression, which I’ve suffered from my whole life. Both my old man and I currently have medical marijuana prescriptions in California. His prescription is for Pain and Insomnia.
I especially enjoy the mental benefits — I find I’m more focused on the “moment-in-time,” and always feel SO connected to the universe when I’m stoned. Pot stimulates my brain (contrary to the “dumb dopester” stereotype!), and seems to facilitate thinking in “new ways.”
I love the way pot stirs my imagination and creativity! Pot allows me to really “see” the intrinsic beauty of nature. Additionally, I’ve been involved in pot advocacy since the late ’60s, attend the Global (aka “Worldwide”) Marijuana March every May, and e-mail my respective politicians regularly about marijuana reform, and its ultimate legalization.
I’ve been with my old man for almost 38 years, and one of the strongest bonds between us is our marijuana use. Since we’re in CA, we’re allowed to grow our own “medicine,” yet another “shared” pot experience for the two of us!
All-in-all, pot is our FAVORITE substance (and plant). We don’t drink alcohol, we don’t smoke cigarettes, we don’t take pills or any other illegal drugs. And I’ve NEVER witnessed ANYONE becoming violent while they’re stoned on pot! Pot enhances EVERY aspect of our daily life, from doing laundry to making love! Peace, love, laughter, tolerance, and clarity-of-vision result from marijuana use.
These are a few of the many, many reasons I consider marijuana the “perfect” plant. I’m stoned right now, and I feel SO GOOD!
Be “in the moment.” Stay High and Peace!
I use for many reasons:
To think more into a situation.
For common Depression.
Stress.
Common Pains, Headaches, etc.
and Purely, just to have a fun.
My wife and I use MJ daily.I myself have been toking for 20 years. To us MJ is just a way to release. We wait until our children are in bed, and the day is done, then we spark one up. It is the way we end our days. NOTHING criminal about that is there? Our lives are no diferent when we go a while without weed.So I wouldnt say that either of us are dependent. Simply put, it is just nice to sit back and burn one to relax.
I have noticed a few puffs of certain types of high quality cannabis allows me to breathe better. It is the opposite of what tobacco did to me. I haven’t seen too much about this effect, but, after fifteen years of this and no tobacco, my doctor says I am healthy and I feel that way, too.
Uses:
– Frequent Nausea due to anxiety (GAD), heartburn, and acid reflux
– Insomnia (due to anxiety)
– Headaches due to clenching my teeth while I sleep (I also wear a nightguard)
– PMS symptoms
It is less addictive than Xanex and is way more effective. I’m far more productive while using cannabis. Yet its quite pricey (health insurance won’t cover it) and you can technically still get fired for it in Cali (even with doctor’s approval). I spend my entire work days (M-F, 9-6) feeling like crap and unmotivated. Opposite of the stereotype, huh?

Grass makes everything better. Even when i am not high, if i have been smoking regularly im so much more carefree and easy to deal with. It puts me in a better mood. Art is enhanced by weed. Looking at art while you are high takes you to a whole different level.
Hello, my name is Dylan Brooks, and I’ve smoked marijuana since a very young age. Already being at a very young age, just 16, I have been purchasing and smoking pot for nearly six years. Many of you, probably looking down at what I’ve typed, are saying that I’m ignorant and much too young to even have my mind, much less hands, on marijuana. On the contrary, is what i have to say to you. I’m a straight A student, being in the National Honor Society since freshman year at Denton High School, in Denton, Texas. Very rarely do I openly annouce that I smoke pot very frequently and on a regular day basis. Until the day I become 18, I would like to conceil that from my dear mother, and many close peers (the ones that I don’t smoke with). Many of my friends are potheads as well, and i can easily tell the responsible ones from the fuckups that have and will abuse pot in many ways. I would say that I am a responsible stoner (wow, doesn’t that sound like an oxymoron), even if I am only 16 years old.
-Thanks for reading, Dylan
If you would like to talk to me more on this topic, please feel free to email me anytime at: dylan13is7865@hotmail.com
ive been smoking for a while to help control my adhd and deppression and i havent had a problem with it since i was 8 yrs old and i no longer use a nebulizer or inhaler for my childhood asthama to this day i am an active supporter
it has so many great uses, and has no harsh harming effects…i personally use it for anxiety, and pain caused by an automobile accident. but so many people in this country are brain-washed by all the 50’s and 60’s mumbo jumbo that they wont open their minds and think for them selves. its time americans stopped acting like cattle and started thinking for them selves and not beieve every thing the tv and newspapers tell you….they are goverment controlled, free speach doesnt exist anymore. marijuana is a great natural herb. it helps so many people just like myself live a normal pain free life. hopefully one day everyone will understand that.
I have been smoking marijuana for 8 years. A vaporizer is where it is at. It has no harmful effect on your lungs… And it conserves your supply. I smoked nearyly every single day as soon as i made it to college 4 years ago. I graduated … and not only that… i graduated stoned out of my mind too(cap and gown in all). Guess what? I am inventor, poet, lyracist, and political activist. When people get stoned – they get paranoid. This is a good thing. I have found that there is a reason to be paranoid- its illegal. Another reason, our federal reserve system (fake money as good as monopoly money) HAS USURPED THE GOVERNMENT…. The power does not lie with the people any longer. I WILL DO EVERYTHING IN MY POWER TO CHANGE THAT. SOOON -SOON
I smoke cannabis because it allows me to see the beauty in the world. I feel more at peace with myself, with nature, and with the world. I don’t make poor decisions when I smoke, I like to watch a good movie with friends or sit on my porch and watch traffic go by. Cannabis allows me to realize why I believe that God exists, and it helps me to understand the important things in life.
I smoke marijuana — with the aid of a vaporizer, of course! — because it allows me to be in the moment, to access my intuitive resources in real time, to reach Delta level sleep and allow my body to heal.
It also makes me very giggly and prone to free associate and stuff — you know, “Stoned.” Euphoric, in other words. Happy and just generally more fun to be with.
What are you lookin’ at?
With our economy in such bad shape now is the best time to legalize. Why I smoke you ask, well its because this world so damn greedy and selfish! Dont get me wrong this is a certain majority of people im talkin about. those people and i quote” who are riding on the almighty dollars NUTSACK” We can not stand for this any longer … Amsterdam has it legal and they’re doing just fine… smoking weed is by choice
Why we try, is not as important as, why we still do it. Many people “Try”, things for some reason, or no reason at all. Those who continue to use it, have a specific and more important reason. The reason of “Once”, is irrelevant to the reason of, “Use”.
Why do we drink water? (Some of us.)
Why do we eat Twinkies? (Some of us.)
Why do we ask why? (Some of us.)
Why can we never get one “Single”, answer…
Because there is no “Single”, answer…
The only non-scientific answer, significant to “One”, is the fact that we tried it, because it was a choice presented to us. Legal or illegal, it will always be a choice, and it will always be our choice. Good and bad, even scientific, is still a perception.
The other thing we can all agree on, is that punishment does not solve any problems. Reward for those who choose a better perceived way of life, should be rewarded. However, it is cheaper to punish than it is to reward, so here we sit, trying to just be normal, happy, human, content, friendly, and understanding. While we get beat, badgered, mocked, criminalized, excluded, and abused. Compared to dumpster strays, voodoo religion, feeble minds, and vampire addictions, when none of that holds true.
If I were the government, I would suppress anything that made my followers/slaves hard for me to control, made them think, gave them free-will, and reduced my monthly pay-check. Isn’t that why we created a government in the first place? Wait, they created themselves, and said we needed it, wanted it, had to have it, for our protection. So why do so many laws harm us, and protect them?
What was the question again?
Why do I use marijuana?
Because everything the government says is not bad, by perception to me, is bad.
Because everything the government says is bad, by perception to me, is not bad.
Murder is bad, but war is not bad. Drugs are bad, but prescriptions are not bad. Crime is bad, but taking taxes you did not earn is not bad. Gambling is bad, but lotto is not bad. Exporting is bad, but importing is not bad. Debit is bad, but credit loans are not bad.
(NOTE: That was just a rant, not my true feelings, just some perceptions.)
Who has time to visit a doctor… I am in pain now, and Guido is right on the corner! (Kidding, any relation to persons in reality, are pure coincidence.)
well I will say that I have used also most of my life, from about 13 on, we all smoke what we would call today , leaf, well i graduated and kept smoking and enjoying, it, but in 1996 I was diagnosed with crohns disease and the medical card has helped me obtain through a dispensarie what I need, usually, like today it was fucked, but thats unusual, but I use because its all I do, I dont drink, I dont take mind altering, fake, pharms, pushed on you by a doc, i fucntion in a job, and society, my kids school, all while high, its the first thing i do in the morning and the last thing I do at night, I use now becuase its legal, it, gives me all over relief, I dont know if it helps me be not depressed, but, I only eat about 600 calories a day , so the fact that, I am depressed, I feel that is a side effect of the crohns, that cant be helped, so if Im high, maybe I dont notice the hunger as bad, and the pain and the undulatation of my sewed backed togeather insides, is forgotten, because my brain is thinking about other things, like macrame knots, and counting coupons with my kids, it allows me to forget the pain, so we can build a snowman, it allows me to eat the cookies my 11 year old daughter made, even if Im not hungry, I dont feel hungry, I should be its been 9hrs since Ive had food, so I eat her cookies, with frosting and make her smile, thats why I use, it allows me to not throw the cat across the room when he just now knowcked over my stash, it allows me to not notice the spirits that live in our house so much, it allows me to function and not rip off some fat womans head if she says to me one more time, at the kids game, damn you are sure skinny, I dont say damn your a fat cow, Im smoking now, and will smoke when I get up at 3 and go back to bed and get up and smoke and have coffee, it is something that allows me to have a life, to forget I have a chronic disease that eats me alive from the inside out, that ravages my young once supple body, it allows me to accept, I cant change everything, but I can enhance my life, my kids life and the few friends I keep, because I have become really jaded and the one thing pot allows me to to is be civil to people, and maybe just maybe for a while a moment in time, a day, maybe two I can be civil to me, forgive myself, love myself, and embrace who I am, because I have lost friendships over my view on this subject, someone i had known 20 yrs, so my battle mostly is with me and if using helps me be good to me, then I say, smoke it if you got it, dont share, dont boast dont be in your face about it, but stand up for yourself and your choice of meds sometimes a bowl is all ya got, peace, my brothers and sisters, smoke happy, eat meatloaf, and hug your kids, oh and let the dog in since your in such a good mood. bye
I use it because I can. I control my mind and body. I choose what goes in and out. NOT the government. I have been on this earth for 35 years, and I have done a pretty good job at. I love my life, and all my pot smoking friends. If you dont smoke pot you dont know what you are missing. Peace for everyone.
hi, ive been a user of marijuana for years and i use it for various reasons. the main reasons are as a way to self-medicate my diagnosed depression anxiety and obbsessive compulsive disorder. it also lets me think in a way i find more creative and has helped me accept people for who they are. i also use it to relive the intense boredom i suffer on a daily basis. i think if more people knew its benefits its use would be much more widely accepted. thanks for doing this study.
I am one of the younger pot smokers out there being only 18 and I like everyone else first smoked out of curiousity.
Now, 3 years later, I smoke to relieve my stress, anxitey, and depression.
Pot calms me down and in high school was the only way I could attend class because of ADHD.
Marijuana is truely a cure-all drug, I can’t even list all the possibilites. The people listed above me that have been smoking wayy longer than I’ve been alive, Right on!
Now, lets all go lay in a sunny field a fire one up!
all my friends above me have pretty much said it all. Ive always been one that would much rather smoke than drink to relax or even while celebrating! and dont get me started on how its legal that hundreds of people can sit in a bar and drink drink drink til they can hardly walk and then stumble to their car in the parking lot…….i often wonder why theres not 50 cops lined up outside a bar at closing time, wouldnt that be approximatly 50 dui’s??????? thank you god for a natural calming life enhancing happy plant…peace
I use marijuana to swim better. Bummer it got me dropped from kellogs and suspended from swimming for a few months.
I use it to help alleviate constant back pain from a car accident that I was in several years ago. I’d rather smoke marijuana than be a pill junkie for the rest of my life.
~~
Jeepers, it’s a curious circumstance be be asked under…..
Well, there’s many reasons it’s quite an enjoyable little pastime of mine…
For starters, the smoke. It’s simply heavenly…rich, all enveloping, smells like the stuff dreams are made of (or in my case die from), and so on.
Secondly the rush; it’s speedy, makes my mind whirl in an array of blues and lush purple.
Third, the sex. Dirty vagina had never been enjoyed more…. Prostitutes were soft, delicate and actually hot in my delirious trips… and the worries of STD’s didn’t even cross my mind!
Last………..OH……DA FUCK? This is a questionnaire about WEED……….WEED ain’t no drug, I’m talking bout crack mothafucker..
WEED!?
Yo I suck dick fo crack mang…! Ya eva suck dick for fucking WEED?
I’ve been smoking now for thirty years and don’t think I’ll ever stop. I was sadded by the person that wrote that they never had kids because they didn’t want to set a bad example. That couldn’t be farther from the truth. I have 4 daughters, 3 grown and 1 almost there and my wife and I have always been honest about our enjoyment of weed. Contrary to the propaganda that is feed to our kids. I go to work everyday, I pay my bills and enjoy life. I have hobbies and interests. I have taught my kids how to take care of theirself’s, I’ve taught them to treat everyone with respect and the way they themself’s want to be treated. 1 of my girls is a chef, 1 just got her Masters degree while working and raising a son by herself, and 1 is going to college to be a vet and my youngest is a straight A student in honours classes. We taught them by example, my wife is a Sunday school teacher for crying out load. But I guess we have set a “bad example” in that we are both “criminals” Be cause of the fact that we enjoy smoking weed, we could very easily lose everything we’ve worked so hard for. I have not nor will I ever smoke before going to work. I have a very dangerous job and like coming home with all my body parts, but if I was to get hurt I would lose my job and any workmen’s comp I might have coming, because I would fail the drug test. Enough! I have to go smoke some now, thinking about the ignorance of our drug laws in regard to weed just flat out pisses me off.
It helps me relax and focus when it is really necessary to do so. For instance when engaged in legal matters etc.
On the lighter side it lets me concentrate on and enjoy online poker to a greater extent.
I used to smoke every day until about 25 yrs. ago and quit. My younger son of 18 yrs. began to smoke and I asked him for some. I rarely use…but when I do it’s great. I love the one-hit-wonder stuff!
Man made the alcohol
God made weed
Who do you trust
I work 30 hours a week and go to school full time, I go to the gym whenever I can and have little free time for my friends and relationships. If I want to smoke a bowl before I go to sleep so I can feel like everything is gonna be alright at least one time that day, and still maintain my work and school schedule, then it’s nobody elses fucking business.
Marijuana makes life livable. If I never discovered it I would probably be on some prescribed anti depressant that brings a whole list of side effects with it. I have bi-polar disorder and weed keeps me balanced without any unwanted side effects.
I’m also extremely under weight. Weed has helped me get my appetite back so I’m not starving myself like a was.
It has also helped me grow spiritually and I now see life to be very epic.
It also helps me focus.
it helps me relax. it helps me see things from a different, usually more enlightened perspective. i would rather hit a bong over a bottle or a cigarette. it can make good times better. it is one of the best things on this planet when used properly. i love it.
My use is mostly recreational–what can I say–it’s a great way to relax. BUT, it also helps the pain in my hands and helps take away stress/frustration and sometimes if used in time: helps resolve differences between people without a further lean towards anger. Yes; I’d say it(the herb) definitely helps folks get along.
My wife; however: mostly uses weed to help with her chronic stomach pains, morning nausea, back pain, and anxiety problems. I’ve watched her pop 6 or seven of a pill that requests you take 2 or 3; and she still does not get the same level of relief as would she receive from smoking or eating cannabis. For her–recreation is more of a pleasant side-affect(boy, I’ll say) compared to other(legal) meds.
I smoke for recreational and medical uses i suffer from depression and scoliosis and the back pain is so bad i get major headaches and smoking relieves that pain and just makes me a easier person to get along with i live in a town that is known for harshly prosecuting users since they feel its the biggest problem here the police know who i am and know i use it but they have never caught me. I think daily smokers should be free to smoke everyones gotta get on this band wagon and prove obama and the government that it is helpful and not in any way and another thought would be to thank du pont for not investing in hemp cultivation and use of hemp materials
I started smoking for recreational purposes decades ago, and now smoke primarily for medicinal purposes. There is NO QUESTION about the medicinal benefits. WITH the marijuana, I am able to do more, have productive days, be HAPPY, LIVE, not feel like dying, and STOP THE PAIN. I also have noticed I have a reduced need for Rx medication which costs a small millionaire’s salary these days. If I use marijuana, I can reduce the Rx medication, save money, take it WHEN I need it, not all the time, and my nausea is greatly reduced (that which I get from all the freakin’ Rx medication).
I am currently planning on moving to a medical marijuana state…JUST FOR THIS REASON. My state is considering it now and would be nice if they would do it, but I won’t hold my breath in this corrupt ass state.
I am a licensed electrician. I never smoke before work. I’m also an instructor. I never smoke before class. I have been smoking herb for 30 years. There is a time for work and a time for play. I am fully aware that I could lose my jobs over my choice to smoke instead of drink, but weed does not give me a hang-over like booze, therefore, in my opinion it is better for me. Also, I’d rather be stoned and relaxed than drunk and crazy!(although I enjoy both on the weekend) Smart, hard working, tax paying people smoke weed too!
Like many others, I smoke for pleasure, for fun, for stress and depression relief, as well as minor pain relief.
But as great as cannabis is to smoke, I must say that the real crime is that hemp is not being used. Instead we’re growing damaging cotton, and cutting down trees to make paper. We’re using foreign oil to run our cars. The list goes on and on.
Legalization…not incarceration!
I smoke for the general reasons; it’s fun, it makes me happy, and it’s relaxing. There’s nothing better than coming home from a long, stressful day of school and kickin’ back with your family and a joint. One of the effects of smoking this wonder drug is I spew creativity. Evey paper I wrote for my 9th grade english class was a “piece of art”, as my teacher liked to say. I passed that class with an A+ and got recommended for honors english 10, which I’m taking next year. Since I’ve started smoking I feel significantly closer to my family, I’m finally apart of the three generation long tradition of smoking pot.
Why do I smoke pot? Its my way to take the edge off after a hard day at work while letting me keep control of most of my faculties, as opposed to alcohol. Also it helps to slow me down in this fast paced society that we live in, helps me “stop and smell the roses,” laugh at dumb things, and lightens my mood, preventing emotional outbursts and overreactions to stressful situations.
Much like Willie Nelson, I use Cannabis to keep down the rage.
I use on a daily basis for pain control, I have severe fibromialgia and degenerative joint disease, no pun intended. I am in such pain at times I cannot walk, I smoke a little and let it take its effects and I can walk, and do daily activities that would be otherwise impeaded by heavy narcotics for the pain. I am also an artist, I am regularly inspired and motivated by the pot I smoke to create some very beautiful works of art, including natural wood clocks, canes with carvings on them and pipes I make from deer and elk antlers, some of wich I carve faces on to bring out the character in the piece. Every time I go buy it I am so terrified that I will get arrested or fined for trying to medicate and inspire myself to be an independant woman and not end up bed ridden because of the pain and heavy drugs I would be on if I didnt have it. It has been time for along time to change things and I am going to do my part to change things for the better for all of us. We shouldnt have to be afraid to make ourselves feel better and deal with pain.
FIGHT ON ALL AND WE WILL BE VICTORIOS.
Hi use marijuana and I love it! It puts a smile on my face, and helps keep the depression bug away. I use ganja as medicne for my OCD, headaches, pain, anxiety, and to fight alcoholism. Man made drugs make me feel I have no soul, or no life force. Cannibis on the another hand makes me feel vital, fecundinty with a bright, beautiful, and colorful soul. Pot makes me feel well connected to the earth, and helps my spritiual relationships.Grass is not for everyone, but it is for me.
I used to smoke weed to get away from my problems and the fact that I wasnt able to face the world as it is.
Marijuana has fucked up my life and now I have to work much harder just to get it back
What started out in the 70’s as something that made me laugh nonstop, has over the years, allowed me and many others, the opportunity to benefit from it’s long list of use’s. I have used pot to medically treat myself for back pain, tooth pain after root canals, severe cramping due to colitis/diverticulitis, anxiety and depression after the death of my parents, carpel tunnel nerve pain, and many more uses. When I get home from work and want to relax after a hard day, instead of having a beer- which makes me very aggressive, I take a hit of marijuana and that’s it. I use pot responsibly, like many others, and feel very strongly that it is a civil liberty. There are too many people, in the professional world, who medicate themselves each day, and we need these people, and all smokers, to ‘come out of the closet’ and engage your community to do the same! One final note, as much as marijuana has helped me, one of the biggest crimes in this so called ‘War on Drugs’, is the fact that HEMP is not being used, especially NOW. Stay Active!!!!
I use it because I like being high. I like the way it makes me feel, and it chills me out. I have anger problems so when I’m about to explode I smoke some weed, and boom, I’m back to being chilled out. Also, it prevents me from thinking too much. I think way too much about this world, the people on it, and how stupid and ignorant they really are. That is something that will always make me mad, smoking helps me “accept” it more. I also use it to feel better from hangovers from various other drugs (especially alcohol). I love marijuana.
with out marijuana i cant function.
I use it to relax, to sleep, back pain, headaches. When I don’t smoke for a few days, all those come back: can’t sleep, im hurting … it sucks.
Pot wants to be happy. It uses me to get there.
C’mon and use me up! (Bill Withers)
One grand day.

I did not smoke as a Long haired youngster, I did however start smoking that wonderful herb at 19 or 20.
When things are tough and this rat race we are all part becomes to real to threatoning, be it bills or the (NICE) people we find ourselves working for; I like to smoke marijuana, whats wrong with a little laughter and relaxation anyways?
I have to live in fear as I work for a company that randomly tests for marijuana and the fear that an officer of the law will take me from my home and favorite pass-time.
I as so many of us do know people from all walks of life that partake in this wonderful ritual of smoking and sharing in life, love and conversation.
I have been around other drugs and seen bad things but as a 51 year old expert I can say beond a doubt that no one has ever said to me “oh man I smoked last night and what a bad trip I had”; This just does not happen.
I would love to see this country move forward as legilization would stop the problem i’m having now stopping a 16 year old from smoking.
I had to call an ambulance once because a friend of mine was having an asthma attack; I told the ambulance driver she had been smoking pot and drinking; the ambulance driver said to me “She should have stuck to the smoking”.
I have many life experiances, such as when I went to my cousins wedding and to my surprise all of them were smoking.
I know a Colonel, Polices Officers, IRS personel, Business Owners heck you name it.
I had a person who worked for me that was named employee of the month; everybody was proud of her; she could do no wrong; then they randomly tested this wonderful young lady; she did not wish to change her lifestyle so her picture went away and this great employee was just a memory.
There are many Americans being stifled by laws preventing them from taking better jobs because some companies test and some do not; many Americans take these jobs to keep the freedom to smoke Marijuana when in their homes.
I know that if what I like to do in my own home that relaxs me was legal, I would feel better about my country; why should I be subjected to persicution for smoking a joint sitting back and watching my tv in the evening.
From my experiance if people who smoked or did not care if others do spoke up, the laws would change and less stress related problems would exist in America; and less children would be on drugs.
i am a 2 year old female who smokes weed.
I had a problem with herion and ciggaretts for 10 years.I just celibrated my 1 year away from heroin and 1 month away from cigs.
I have also illiminated all prescription drugs.
I have one problem the only thing that helps me with my laundry list of conditions and diagnosis is mary jane.Unfortunately it is illigal in my state.
I had a little girl a year ago and tried to stop everything all at one time and i almost died.
slowly but surely i am illiminating all unwanted drugs.
If I could find a wayto smoke legally I could have my little girl back.I lost her twin sister to doctor error. So shes all i have and my fiances parents think I am a degenirite.if anyone can help with info or positive advice shoot.
make that 2 year old female…..
29 the nine was sticking
It helps me with my anxiety, lack of appetite, to maintain my weight, insomnia, hormonal balance and PMS symptoms. MUCH safer than prescription drugs for these things, ya know?
hi my name is eli when i was a student in highschool i was perscribed to take ritaln to help my adhd today i think i found something much better and that is Marijuana it helps me focus i smoke beforr bussnis meetings it helps me be on the ball if im correct please let me know it will do me lots of good thank you
God said it is good. He made the stuff Himself. Who am I to disagree? I say legalize the stuff already.
I USE TO ALLEVIATE PAIN,DEPRESSION,AND TO INCREASE APPETITE-IT WORRIES ME THAT I COULD GO TO JAIL FOR TRYING TO DO SOMETHING TO REDUCE MY INTAKE OF ADDICTIVE DRUGS-I CAN’T UNDERSTAND WHY SOME PEOPLE WANT TO PUSH THEIR BELIEFS/PREJUDICE ON OTHERS-I HURT NO ONE
WHEN I MEDICATE (USING MY OWN HOME GROWN) IT OPENS UP MY MIND AND HEART. I THINK THINK AND THINK ABOUT HOW BEAUTIFUL AND HARMONIOUS GODS CREATION IS AND HOW (TRULY)SAD IT IS THAT THE MAJORITY HAVE BEEN BRAINWASHED(BY UNCLETOM HIMSELF) TO BELIEVE THAT IT CAUSES “MADNESS”. I PONDER THIS SO MUCH IT MAKES ME GO OUT TO FIND THE ENLIGHTENED AND SHARE A HEAVENLY SMOKE WITH THEM(STRANGER). IVE EVEN GIVEN AN OUNCE TO AN ENLIGHTENED STRANGER(JUST HARVESTED A WEEK PRIOR AND FINISHED DRYING THAT SAME DAY[BLUE WIDOW]) WHOM I SMOKED WITH CAUSE THEIR OUTLOOK ON HERB MADE ME A BETTER PERSON. THE SELLING OF THIS BEAUTIFUL HERB AS A COMMERCIAL PRODUCT IS TRULY DIGUSTING.I PROMISE TO ALL THOSE WHO GROW LARGE SCALE OR NOT GIVING AND SHARING HERB MAKES TRUE LIFE LONG FRIENDS.I PROMISE. WILL BE GIVING HERB ON THE NEXT HARVEST.ITS ALMOST A PASSIONATE HABIT WHEN I SMOKE. PEACE.
I’ve smoked since my early 20s when I was at university studying electronic engineering nearly 20 years ago. I got my degree and have been smoking ever since, generally after work to relax, or when I spend time with friends who also smoke grass, or before I play the guitar. There’s a misconception in the public eye about smokers being a bunch of braindead layabouts. On the contrary, I’ve lived in a number of countries, including in South Africa where grass is so cheap it’s practically free compared to Europe or the US, but the homeless are always alcoholics, even in South Africa. Grass makes you think, alcohols switches the brain off. I smoke after work not to switch my brain off, but rather because after a full day’s work it’s the only thing that can give me the concentration to read, play music, etc. But because it’s illegal I’ve been forced to break the law many times in various countries to buy it, and I count myself lucky that I’ve never been busted in all that time (touch wood!).
Dr.,
I thought my experience may be relevant. My Father was a chain smoker, chain swearer, alcoholic 24/7, mental abuser and physical abuser. A screamer and abusive but better than his Dad gave him! Being born into this environment and being called stupid in every sentence creates a hateful, self loathing screwed up kid. I was a juvenile delinquent and it was military or jail at 20.
When I got to college using the GI bill I started alright but as I got into my Junior year I was failing. I thought the people at high school who said I was too stupid for college were right.
One night I sat down, after flunking my finance midterm, with a bowl of hash. After reading the same book stoned I understood every word! I got straight As in Finance! When creating computerized computer programs they were unusable straight but made sense when done stoned!
The ADHD is created as a child, from the abuse. I was anxious, nauseous and my brain raced. When I got high it all boiled out while I slept and I joined society as normal. I woke up refreshed, clear headed and ready to go.
My negativity builds up in me and the only way to relieve it is with THC. I have had to get more than I wanted to be able to have it when I needed it. I then over indulge and it relaxes me to sleep. It relieves the constant pain of being scared all the time for no reason. It feels really good. But I am just a pot head to most.
This has been a 40 year journey and I appreciate you not broadcasting it. If you think my input would help I would be happy to answer questions or what you may think.
