Poll: Nearly 60 Percent Of New Jersey Adults Favor Legalizing Marijuana

Nearly six out of ten New Jersey adults favor legalizing the use and sale of marijuana, according to the results of a Rutgers-Eagleton poll. Support for legalization was highest among those age 18 to 34 (67 percent), Democrats (64 percent), and Independents (61 percent). Support was lowest among Republicans (41 percent) and those over the age of 65 (47 percent).

House Floor Vote To Protect States’ Marijuana Laws Pending In Congress

Members of the United States House of Representatives are anticipated to vote this week on a series of amendments to a Justice Department spending bill. Specifically, Representatives Tom McClintock (R-CA) and Jared Polis (D-CO) are introducing an amendment intended to halt the federal prosecution of those individuals involved in marijuana-related activities that are compliant with the laws of their states.
