The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws is pleased to announce the addition of Jax Finkel James to its national staff. “I am excited to join the staff at NORML where I can use the passion, lessons, and skills I have learned in Texas to empower states and to coordinate reforms with NORML’s numerous chapters across the nation,” James said.
Included in legislation being considered this special session are a number marijuana-related objectives which have advanced in both the Senate and House of Delegates thus far.

Democratic Governor Ralph Northam officially signed legislation today decriminalizing marijuana possession. The new law takes effect July 1, 2020 and reduces penalties for offenses involving the possession of up to one ounce of marijuana to a civil violation – punishable by a maximum $25 fine, no arrest, and no criminal record.
