Wisconsin – When asked by the media about a recently introduced medical cannabis bill in his state, as well as to comment on the Obama administration’s new policies on medical cannabis, Governor Jim Doyle said he has no problem with the use of cannabis to treat severe pain and other medical conditions by way of a physician’s recommendation, and that restricting the use of medical cannabis makes no sense when doctors can already prescribe more dangerous drugs like morphine.
British Columbia – Stephen Gamble, president of the Fire Chiefs’ Association of B.C., recently came out in favor of fire department inspections of the home gardens of federal medical cannabis patients and caregivers in BC, to make sure the cannabis grow operations are safe, and not creating fire hazards. However, numerous medical cannabis patients and advocates in B.C. have spoken out against the proposal citing special federal privacy protections for medical patients.
Washington, D.C. – The Transportation and Security Administration (TSA), in numerous media reports, acknowledged another major departure from prior administrations regarding federal medical cannabis policies: State-compliant medical cannabis patients may not be harassed or arrested for their medical cannabis whilst traveling in federally-controlled airports.
Oakland NLC member Robert Raich, for years, has been pursuing the TSA to allow medical cannabis patients flying out of Oakland International Airport to lawfully possess their medicine in compliance with TSA rules, which are to concentrate on terrorism and public safety concerns, (i.e., weapons, explosives, knives, etc…), and that pilots and the airline crew are not liable for the presence of lawfully possessed medical cannabis.
New Hampshire – New Hampshire’s new US attorney, John Kacavas, told the media that he will not prosecute medical cannabis patients. [The new policy from Obama]…”is saying in a smarter battle against drugs, people who use it to improve their appetite, people who use it to alleviate their pain probably ought not to be prosecuted federally.”
Then…The Drug War Whoring
Washington, D.C. – In one of the grossest, most gratuitous, desperate attempts to get media attention I’ve ever seen (which says a lot…), former public relations flack for the infamous House Select Narcotics Committee (sui generis of many bad, failed and constitutional-warping anti-drug legislation of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Thankfully this congressional committee no longer exists, and these days the once leaders of the group, like powerful New York democrat Charlie Rangel, now support decriminalizing cannabis) and former drug czar Barry McCaffrey’s in-house anti-pot propagandist Bob Weiner employs PRNewswire to hump his absurd press release attacking President Obama’s and Attorney General Eric Holder’s clarification of their ‘hands off’ policies regarding the use of federal law enforcement in states with medical cannabis laws (and presumably in states without state protections for medical cannabis patients).
In a country where approximately 75% of the population support medical access to cannabis, one has to wonder what is wrong with people like Bob Weiner. What does he not get? Or, is the only source for his revenue and self-being these days–almost eight years after taxpayers stopped funding his anti-cannabis propaganda when Weiner, a Democratic political appointee, lost his job when the Bushies took over in 2000–is to whore himself out to the media and anti-drug groups as some kind of anti-cannabis zealot, one that mocks science with his ignorance and drips contempt for the compassion that others seem to possess.
Weiner, a self-proclaimed expert on cannabis, does not seem to understand that 1) cannabis is not prescribed anywhere in the US, 2) the DOJ memo only impacts federal, not state attorneys, 3) Weiner claims, relying on unnamed law enforcement agents, that 9 out of 10 medical cannabis patients are frauds, citizens ‘faking’ a medical need ‘just to get high’, 4) Weiner oddly compares a non-toxic and therapeutic substance like cannabis to laetrile, therein invoking the late Senator Kennedy to supposedly prove the “false hope” of medical cannabis, when, in fact, Senator Kennedy supported both patient access to medical cannabis and active cannabis medical research at the University of Massachusetts @ Amherst, and 5) Weiner whines that politics, not science is the controlling factor; feigns there is a dearth of science regarding cannabis (when there are over 17,500 studies relating to cannabis and/or cannabinoids).

THIS is what is wrong with the majority of congress and lawmakers. Not everyone has a liver that takes well to gin and high concentration alcoholic beverages; hence the effects you feel of a hangover. Alcohol is a toxin that 99 out of 100 users use to get a buzz rather than health reasons. You are much less aware of surrounding and more likely to be loud and disorderly and non-complying with public manner/ laws with alcohol. Think before you make statements and know your opinion is not the majority’s opinion, Mr. Weiner.
Also, as far as the “placebo” distracting doctors against giving better treatment argument goes; marijuana is much less likely to have malicious reactions with other medications than alcohol, which in many cases is used regardless of the warnings on almost every prescription bottle there is saying not to consume alcohol while using the medication.
It’s time for a change. Don’t be a follower simply because YOU don’t smoke marijuana and support the prohibition, the benefits of re-legalization would be phenomenal and highly noticeable. Go Green!!!

As I watched this video, I got the feeling I was watching history being made.
Recently Congressman Rangel stated, “I don’t remember the last time there was a marijuana arrest in New York City.” However that seems really odd seeing as how there’s been more than 430,000 arrest for possession of small amounts of marijuana since 1997 in NYC. 2000 resulted in over 50,000 of these arrests, and 2008 resulted in over 40,000 arrests. This is also Kind of odd because these arrests were for the possession of small amounts, less than 1 ounce, which has been decriminalized in the state of New York since 1977 with the passage of the marijuana reform act. One can be given a ticket, and fined $100 for posession of marijuana, but not fingerprinted and jailed. New York State has formally and legally decriminalized possession of marijuana.

Does anyone really believe that a physician’s release to use “medical marijuana” is anything less than a license to get high? Seriously? So what if people with serious illnesses are using marijuana. Well, i just want to start by telling people that we need not preach to the choir on this issue. What we need to do is try to get Jack from the box and that snack cake Debbie to throw their money into legalization/ decriminalization because to them it could be pitched as a wise investment. think of how many times you have smoked and and ordered 15 double cheese burgers from a red headed clown.
We as the people of the US need to move toward total legalization. Though you are technically correct, the law in NYC has a provision that you can be arrested if the marijuana is in use OR public view. So when the cop says to a guy just hand it over and its no big deal, right then its in public view, and he gets arrested. easiest collar in the world right? the whole thing is a freaking joke anyway. I live in NYC and id never toke in public, its just dumb, despite what rangel says, you WILL get arrested, i have friends that were.

Most people use logic and common sense in day to day things, but some just can’t seem to grasp the basic fact that marijuana is 1/100th as harmful and addictive as tobacco and alcohol. Their best argument is: “THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!@##!#!!#!#!#”
I think of the children, and think of them buying the drug illegally from drug cartels.
Most of us are adults, and in my opinion nobody has a right to tell me what I can or cannot use. I am responsible, and I’m on my own medicinal schedule, which I have used successfully for 12 years now. My own family does not even know I use it medicinally.

Yup you bet we are. We dont want our kids buying drugs off the street from drug dealers. We dont want them smoking something thats from a terrorist group. We dont want our kids getting arrested and their futures ruined by this oh so caring government. They will say things in an attempt to make you think Cannabis users are stupid , dumb or ignorant .They will intentionally misspell words & put context ” out of place . call him guys and let him know how mj has helped you… i left a message and today he actually called me back… he said hes not against it but from what he told me he sure isn’t for it. he still thinks it has no medical use. i told him i smoke so i dont use as much xanax which kills people. Then he comes back and says not if you take the right dosage, he also replied that mj kills more people in car accidents than alcohol which i find hard to believe… Then i got hung up on.. but what about bad road conditions and old people that forgot how to drive… Maybe alot more people smoke and drive than drink and drive? Maybe the numbers just look bad..
This guy needs to stop hating on mj call him and let him know how you feel…
