State Marijuana Arrest Reports

State level data on marijuana arrests are important to the public discussion of cannabis-related issues, including but not limited to local, state, and national laws about marijuana use and sales. This arrest data are provided to the FBI on an annual basis by the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS). In most instances, the data provided are incomplete and represent an underreporting of the total number of actual marijuana-related arrests that occurred in the state because not all participating law enforcement agencies provide data to NIBRS in a timely fashion.
